Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 244

Even with the deafening scream, I wasn\'t afraid. It actually allowed me to build up my resolve.

The boss leaped through the air, and landed just in front of me, swinging his weapon at the same time. I moved to the side, as it plowed the air, just right next to me, and dug deep in the stone.

I shadow walked the hell out of there before he could try another attack. I still wasn\'t in the zone, but at least I could fight somewhat.

He turned around, and immediately charged at me, ripping the ax from the ground yet again. He swung it horizontally, but I ducked under and repositioned behind him in a midswing. I got him, my blade passed across his leg. He twisted his body and swung again, so I had to shadow walk out.

p The wound I gave him wasn\'t shallow, but not deep either. The problem was, there was only a bit of blood coming out of it. Definitely not as much as I expected. Thet thing was though. Even tougher than I thought.

He charged again, and I repeated my motion from before, aiming at the cut I just gave him. This time my blade bite deeper. He tried to grab me in retaliation, but I avoided jumping to the side, thanks to my new lightning reflexes, and slashed across his forearm.

He growled, and barely holding up the balance, as he turned fully around, tried to ram me with his shoulder. He was fast, but I dodged easily. My rhythm returned, I was finally in the zone.

I shadow walked straight on his back, as he was sliding on the stone, trying to stop, and jammed my blade in his neck. He tried to grab me, reaching with his hand, but I just jumped straight into the air. The wound wasn\'t bleeding as much as I would hope for, but that was not the only surprise.

That asshole threw his ax at me. I parried it in the mid-air, but just the impact was enough to send me further, at the chamber wall. The weapon fell, but the boss leaped at me at the same time, as I landed on the wall crouching, thanks to the force that was pressing on my body. I jumped away a second before he smashed the wall in the place I was just a moment before.

I landed on the ground, and rolled, knowing he is going to follow me. I needed to stay on the ground. I was faster there. He came down to, landing with heavily. I knew he was going to pick his ax, that was lying down just a bit from him, so I created the strongest barrier I could over it.

He was surprised when his fingers met the invisible obstacle. This gave me a chance to shadow walk closer, and swing with all my might. I hit his head, and my blade embedded itself in the skull, but that wasn\'t enough to kill that thing.

I pulled the pudao out and repositioned to aim at another blindspot before he could properly react, and as he swung his fist at the leftover smoke, I aimed again at the wound on his leg. This time I cut the bone, not fully though, but enough to slow him down.

He screamed again, more out of rage than pain, and stomped on my barrier, as I made it out. It broke, and he could grab his weapon, but that was another opening for me, and this time, I made it through the bone. He almost fell but managed to catch himself.

Now his balance was ruined, and the rest of the fight was just a matter of time. I smiled, and just started shadow walking in and out, as he couldn\'t even move. He couldn\'t get me, no matter how hard he tried, and I kept aiming at the second leg.

I killed him eventually, but it took quite a bit of time more, and as he turned into smoke, I felt like something broke inside me. I threw my weapon to the side and just started pummeling the crystal into the ground.

My punches buried precious stone in the floor, but that would stop me. I was out. I was looking at these pictures that kept flying in front of my eyes. Pictures of Nadia, and the precious moments we spend together. But not only. I also saw Haf in Velvet Lotus, and Vitya - Midnight - in the canyon, as we hunted together.

When I finally snapped out of it I could feel how wet my face got from all of the tears. I looked around at the empty pit, brightened by the dim light of the torches, and the empty throne.

I got my revenge, but nothing changed. I picked the crystal, and my weapon then made it out.

My hand was bleeding, but the bones were not broken. I healed it up with the skill and slowly traveled up the stairs, to throw the last stone on the cart, and start my journey back, out of the dungeon.

Ki\'rei waited for me on the outside, among my shadows that guarded carts and the score. It was something past midday, but the sun was still high in the cloudless sky.

- I told you I\'m coming back.

She smiled at me, and ran, to my surprise, to give me a hug. I just broke into tears. We stood like that for a moment, as I needed to let all the emotions escape my mind and heart.

- You proved yourself - she finally told me.

- To your masters?

- Yes. Now gather a thousand of those crystals, and I will bring you to the right place.

I nodded. I didn\'t want to go there, wherever it was, jet. I still needed to get stronger, to be able to face whatever was waiting for me there.

We slowly made it back to the camp, to finally rest after a stressful day. We didn\'t talk much and just focused on filling our belies, as we both were hungry. Then we went to sleep.

The day came to an end with 8 570 705 points remaining on my account, forty-three class points, and 1525 orc crystals on my carts.
