Four Sisters From Nowhere

Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Wishful Thinking

After a moment of pondering, he figured to utilize his fawning skills. After all, it was not easy for him to climb up to the GM’s position.

Tweet Streaming was one of the less successful businesses owned by the Quinn family so no chairman’s office was prepared. Therefore, the GM had to give up his personal office to Kaiden.

The GM chuckled, “Sir, since you’re now the new chairman of Tweet Streaming, let’s create a new Tweet streaming account for you so that you can monitor the progress of the company at your convenience.”

“Alright, you do that!”

Kaiden had no knowledge of livestreaming so he was clueless as to what to do next despite his intentions.

He proceeded to wander around the company to familiarize himself with the environment after handling the task to the GM.

“Sir, your account is registered, you can now log into the account on your office computer to monitor all the streamers under the company. I also created a workgroup and invited you into it. You can inform us in the group whenever you have any orders.”

The GM handled everything after a short time and reported to Kaiden courteously.

That was Kaiden’s first time getting treated with such respect. He was uncomfortable with the treatment as he was used to getting treated as an equal.

He followed the GM to his office and logged into his account. The account was done registered and his information was already filled up.

What surprised him the most was the 100 million Tweetcoin units in his account! He could not imagine how much fiat currency would he get if he converted them!

Noticing the unconcealable disbelief on Kaiden’s face, the GM thought that Kaiden was dissatisfied and asked anxiously, “Sir, did I miss something? Is there something that you’re not happy with? Just tell me, I’ll fix it immediately!”

He stared at the man in front of him anxiously. He already checked the account numerous times to make sure that there was nothing wrong but he was starting to doubt himself that he neglected something during the checks.

“Huh?”

Kaiden looked up in surprise and realized how nervous the manager became. “Oh, no. I was just a bit shocked. You did very well!”

Very well…

He waved his hand to gesture the GM to leave before he started exploring the account by himself.

He scrolled through the livestreamer recommendations page. There were many attractive women who garnered hundreds and thousands of simps and they reminded him that he used to watch pretty streamers online sometimes. However, he lost interest instantly when the sudden realization that he became their boss hit him.

He returned to the workgroup and noticed that it was dead silence after he was added to the group.

Perhaps the participants were afraid to talk because of the boss’s sudden appearance?

“Hmm?” Noticing an interesting plus sign at the bottom of the screen, he clicked into it. “I can give out money here? I shall see how many of you are lurking around in here!”

“How much should I give out?”

He keyed in a few numbers after pondering for a while. Although it was not a big sum, the amount was sufficient to be claimed by everyone in the group.

Ding!

Ding!

Ding!

‘Your donations were snatched up within three seconds, Little Fish is the winner!’

“Heh, they’re indeed online but they’re just not talking.” Kaiden chuckled. They seemed to be intimidated by him.

A few fawners appeared and added his account suddenly when he was about to stop fooling around out of boredom.

“That’s quick. My donations are indeed effective!”

He scrolled through the friend requests swiftly. Those who added him were good-looking and famous streamers.

‘Jade Zane?’

He noticed a familiar name in the friend request column suddenly.

Jade was his first girlfriend in university, his precious first love.

“Who would’ve thought that she’d become a streamer on Tweet?”

He twitched his lips before finally accepting her friend request.

“Hi, handsome! What’s up?”

Jade sent him a message right after he accepted her friend request.

Kaiden stared at the greeting on the screen, guessing that she was still unclear of his identity. He decided to chat with her as a stranger.

“Just using the computer to check out other streamers.”

He typed out a sentence using the keyboard skillfully and pressed enter. He then waited for her reply.

Her innocence during their university times emerged within his mind. He did not think that they would end up apart.

He wondered whether it was destiny and he figured that he might be able to help her since she was a streamer on Tweet.

Jade’s chats became suggestive when she found out that Kaiden was working in Tweet Streaming and he had the power to provide her more connections and resources.

Ding!

“Watching other streams must be boring! Handsome, do you want something more fun IRL?”

“IRL?”

Kaiden recovered from his daze and stared at her reply on the screen. He replied with a confused emoji, it was clear that he did not understand what she was suggesting.

“I’m at Moment Hotel, Room 302. Do you have time?”

Jade’s reply was instant and she sent him an embarrassed emoji.

‘Oh, my. Is this necessary?’

Kaiden was shocked. He did not expect that the pure and conservative Jade he once knew became this open-minded.

‘She’s inviting me to meet up in a hotel although we just started chatting! Doesn’t meeting in a hotel mean she wants to sleep with me?’

Aside from disbelief, he was a little upset. He never expected his ex-girlfriend to change so much.

He decided not to reply and shut down his computer.

He took the glass on the desk for a sip and realized that it was already empty. He gave the clock on the wall a glance. More than an hour had passed unknowingly since he was there.

Time does fly.

Shaking his head as he laughed, he proceeded to the pantry with the glass to fill it up. He pushed the door open and walked into the walkway when he knocked into Jade to his surprise.

Staring at his ex-girlfriend whom he loved very much, he was dazed.

He remembered telling her that he was in Tweet’s headquarters during the livestream! He wondered whether she went there on purpose to look for him.

“Kaiden? What are you doing here? Are you working here? It’s been years but you’re still unambitious! You didn’t change at all!”

Jade held a luxury handbag as she stared at Kaiden arrogantly in her expensive clothing.

She did not hide the disgust in her tone at all. She sounded like she detested seeing him there.

“Scram! You’re blocking my way!”
