Chapter 121: 3 Days Later.
The nurses gathered around him to make sure that he was alright. They checked his vitals before confirming there was nothing wrong with him.
Kyle could remember everything he dreamt about within those three days but the moment his eyes opened, it flooded in with everything he tried his best to forget.
Kyle just began to sob, no one knew why he was crying or what was going on but the most logical conclusion.
He must have been scared he nearly died but this was all that they concluded.
Kyle wasn\'t allowed to see anyone just yet until he spoke to the police because they had discovered the bodies there.
There was no telling who was responsible for their deaths because they were killed with a gun while Kyle had a knife wound, not a bullet.
This was the only complication as it could be Kyle that fired those shots to kill these three people even if it was in self-defense. But before he could do it, they managed to stab him but there was no one else there.
There were only three bodies and no murder weapon available and this was why they needed Kyle to piece together the information that they had. .net
Two police officers walked into his room and sat across his bed but Kyle wasn\'t uneasy by their presence.
"Mr. Kyle, it is good to see you\'re well," The male officer began the conversation.
Kyle\'s eyes darted at the female officer, she had a buzz cut but a very intimidating aura.
"It is good to be alive, I guess…" Kyle responded.
"I\'m Officer Oliver and that over there is my partner…" Oliver paused, waiting for his partner to introduce herself.
"I\'m Officer Priscilla and we are here to ask you some questions regarding the attack," Priscilla had a deep yet almost hypnotic voice.
If Kyle hadn\'t looked at her, he would have assumed it was a man he was speaking to, but with the way America was, there was a good chance that Priscilla was Patrick.
"What do I remember…." Kyle muttered out loud. He sounded disoriented like he couldn\'t recall the events, but that was impossible.
There was nothing that he couldn\'t remember so this was Kyle acting the fool.
"Anything would be helpful, Kyle," Priscilla encouraged him to speak up.
"I can\'t remember, it all feels hazy…" Kyle muttered but this was common for victims of such attacks to forget the events that put them in that state.
"I remember going for a walk and someone asking for my help. I don\'t know why but I followed them. I sort of blacked out after that," Kyle lied but there was no reason for this.
If he told the police officers the truth, they would have moved in to get Mike arrested.
But that would be the end of it, Kyle knew he didn\'t have enough evidence.
He knew how important evidence was and if he somehow told the police that Mike was responsible and he got off because there was no evidence.
There would be eyes on Mike and this wouldn\'t allow Kyle to enact his revenge.
He didn\'t want Mike arrested, he wanted him dead and this was why he lied to the police.
All he needed to do was show them the CCTV footage. He learned from Ryder and installed this in the building.
He used the latest technology, it wasn\'t an eyesore and people wouldn\'t even know that there was CCTV, that was the point of it.
This would establish Mike made contact with Kyle that day but it wouldn\'t be enough to put him at the crime scene.
Or at least, this was what Kyle believed would happen and he knew that the best-case scenario would be Mike ending up in prison.
He didn\'t want that, that would be too light a punishment but Kyle wasn\'t a killer either so this was a tricky situation for him.
"Do you remember anything else?" Priscilla asked, jotting down what was being said on her notepad.
Kyle knew lying to a police officer could be a crime if it interfered with the investigation of an active crime scene but that was only if they were caught.
"If you remember anything. Here is my card," Priscilla handed him a card with her contact information.
Kyle took it but had no intention of letting them know that it was Mike who attacked him.
Because if he revealed this information carelessly then there was a good chance that Jane would be affected as well.
"Say, Kyle. Do you own a gun?" Oliver questioned Kyle, this was an important question because if he said no then that would mean that there was a fourth person on the loose.
"No, I have never even held one before," Kyle responded in a dismissive tone.
Oliver shot Priscilla a telling glance because both of them knew what this meant.
He didn\'t know how far Mike was willing to go but he wasn\'t going to risk anything whatsoever.
The police officers left his room and Kyle heaved a loud sigh of relief.
.He couldn\'t believe that things had gotten this complicated but he wanted this to be chalked off as a random attack by strangers that tried to rob him.
But the fact that there were bodies increased the severity of this situation and Kyle\'s story wasn\'t adding up.
If they decided to rob him, who killed them? It wasn\'t illegal to own a firearm/
Was it possible that Kyle had an unlikely hero? That wasn\'t accurate because the shots Mike had missed damaged the walls in the nearby building.
This meant that someone shot at Kyle and missed, that was the most likely scenario at this point.
