My CEO Husband Has Some Issues

Chapter 360: They surprisingly picked the spiciest dish

The living room was ablaze with light.

Rong Yan was feeding egg custard to Li Duidui, who sat with a little yellow duck bib around his neck.

“It’s a bit hot, eat slowly, and don’t burn your tongue. If it’s too hot, tell Mommy,” she would carefully cool the food with her mouth before feeding it, but still worried it might burn the little guy.

“Um,” Li Duidui obediently sat in his child seat, opening his mouth and happily gulping down the beloved egg custard, not at all resembling the five-year-old prodigy who could sit upright and cut steak perfectly with impeccable table manners at his grandmother’s house.

He smacked his lips, squinted his eyes in enjoyment after finishing, and didn’t forget to sweetly flatter his mom, “Mom, delicious!”

“Pfft,” Rong Yan instantly broke into a beaming smile, though she said, “It’s just steamed egg custard, where’s the difference in taste? It’s all the same flavor.”

A pair of smiling eyes betrayed her good mood.

“If it’s delicious, finish this and then we can eat something else, alright?”

“Okay.”

Li Shengxiao’s chest had been clouded with a fire that seemed ready to spread, but now it felt as if it had been silently soothed by a great deal.

He strode over with long steps, casually pulling out chairs for the two of them, and took a seat.

Rong Yan had just finished feeding Little Baby the last bit of egg custard in her bowl and heard his approach. She looked up in surprise and said, “Li Shengxiao, you finished your work so soon?”

She had just gone to the study to call him for dinner, and it looked like he would be busy for a while, but then, he appeared suddenly.

“Handled it for now,” his eagle eyes darkened, remembering the secret he had heard earlier, his handsome face tensing slightly.

He picked up the chopsticks and surveyed the table full of red, vibrant dishes, unable to find a single one to start with.

He didn’t like spicy food.

Rong Yan, as if hearing his thoughts, suddenly placed a steamed sea bass in front of him, “Here, you can’t eat spicy, so I made this for you. It’s light in flavor, you can eat more of it.”

“There’s a plate of vegetable salad on your left, also made especially for you. Oh, and there’s a quick-fried greens,” she arranged those two dishes to his side, simply pointing out their location.

“As for the rest…” Rong Yan blinked, confidently stating, “They’re all dishes that Duidui and I love. I’ve promised him for a long time to make him spicy chicken. If you can’t eat spicy, don’t eat the dishes with peppers in them, just have more greens and fish!”

It couldn’t be helped, as the cook, she found it quite a dilemma. Because in their family, one loved spicy food, the hotter the better. The other loved light flavors, the milder the better. She had to make a bit of both.

But her tastes were the same as her precious son’s, 2 to 1, she definitely had to prepare more of the spicier dishes!

Before she could finish speaking, a long, attractive hand holding chopsticks reached over the fish she had just served and accurately picked up a piece of chicken from a plate full of green and red chili peppers, placing it back in his bowl, and started eating with grace.

Rong Yan watched, dumbfounded, and couldn’t help but call out to him, “Li Shengxiao, that spicy chicken is really hot…”

She didn’t just use green peppers, but also put in a lot of little millet peppers.

The fiery taste was too much for someone who normally didn’t eat spicy food; he wouldn’t stand it with an abrupt first bite!

“It tastes good!” He had swallowed a small piece of chicken before she finished speaking, the man with half-closed eyes continuing his elegant meal.
