Chapter 108 - 108: 99 “Benny” and “Several Months Later” (Request for Subscription)

At this moment, on a mostly unknown part of Kolan Island, a middle-aged man in a purple robe was solemnly surveying his surroundings.

The next moment, he closed his eyes, using his spiritual power to carefully probe his environment, but found nothing unusual.

The middle-aged man sighed a sigh of relief, feeling a rollercoaster of emotions.

“Where did that monster come from…”

His relaxed feeling didn’t last long, when suddenly his expression changed.

His spiritual power was instantaneously summoned, rapidly spreading outwards from him.

[First Ring Magic-Soul Light Curtain]

A faint golden light screen blanketed the middle-aged man’s body.

“BOOM!!”

A loud noise echoed, causing the light screen to ripple violently before restoring its calm.

Simultaneously, in the blink of an eye a magic disk appeared in the middle-aged man’s hand. The manifestation of his spiritual power made his form disappear from his original location.

Milton Cheney, standing on the sidelines, without showing any facial expression, also vanished from the same location.

Kolan Island, in an unknown location.

Benny Bayer suddenly appeared, his face somewhat sour. He licked the gaps between his teeth, the taste of blood in his mouth brought some clarity to his mind.

He instinctively surveyed his surroundings but found nothing abnormal.

But this time, he didn’t breathe a sigh of relief for his last teleportation disk had been used.

His current self, if found, wouldn’t be able to escape.

“Radiant Academy! ! ”

Benny murmured to himself, his eyes filled with a trace of hatred, but it quickly disappeared.

Compared to the fear in his heart, at the moment his mind was primarily filled with bewilderment.

He had no idea why he had attracted the attention of the people from the Radiant Academy.

Could it be that they discovered he killed one of their students long ago?

But that was in the distant past, they wouldn’t wait a few decades and suddenly seek to avenge their student.

Moreover, as a respected Level 1 wizard, the Radiant Academy would seek trouble with him for an apprentice wizard who passed away?

That seemed highly implausible.

Especially considering that the wizards of the Radiant Academy are people who wouldn’t rise early without any benefits, they wouldn’t lift a finger for a mere wizard’s apprentice.

Apart from this reason, he couldn’t think of any other way he might have

offended the Radiant Academy.

His heart was brimming with questions and puzzles that he couldn’t solve, but clearly, no one could answer them for him now.

He took out a Magic Potion from his pocket and drank it in one gulp, recovering some of his strength.

The gradually recovering spiritual power brought him a sense of safety.

After a final inspection of his surroundings, Benny called upon every bit of the remaining spiritual power from his Spiritual Sea.

[First Ring Magic•Wind Walk]

His body seemed to transform into a whirlwind and quickly disappeared from the area.

At this point, he didn’t care why the people of Radiant Academy were after him. He knew he had to get off this cursed island of Kolan.

As he made his exit, he felt he wouldn’t be returning again.

While he was still uncertain as to why the people of Radiant Academy were on to him, the Corner Sea Continent was after all, under the control of the Radiant Academy.

But before he could fly any considerable distance, his vision was suddenly fixed on the silhouette of a person.

“Again?!”

Benny gritted his teeth, instantly changing direction.

But faster than him was Milton Cheney who appeared in front of him in just a twinkling of an eye.

Looking at Milton who unexpectedly appeared before him, despair filled Benny’s eyes.

By now, he was running out of spiritual power in his Spiritual Sea. The majority of his usable abilities consisted of Zero Ring Magic only.

But these Zero Ring Magic techniques weren’t going to change the dire situation at hand.

His death seemed to have become inevitable now.

Benny, who was blessed with an unusual talent and a First-Class wizard’s qualification, who became a Level 1 wizard before reaching the age of a hundred.

Just when he was facing such an unclear predicament his heart was filled with hatred towards the Radiant Academy.

If only he knew back then when he became a Level 1 wizard, he would’ve slain them all.

“Give up your resistance, release your Spiritual Sea and I’ll give you a chance to live.”

Jjust as Benny decided to face death courageously, Milton in front of him spoke.

The tone was indifferent, as if the conversation was a casual chat.

Hearing these words, a glimmer of hope flashed in Benny’s eyes, but disappeared just as quickly.

“You want me to be your dog?”

How could he, Benny, blessed with an extraordinary talent and a First-Class wizard qualification, who became a Level 1 Wizard before reaching the age of a hundred, possibly become someone’s lapdog?

He fully understood the implications of opening up his Spiritual Sea.

In the face of this man’s power, opening up the Spiritual Sea was tantamount to giving his life to the man in front of him.

Impossible! Absolutely impossible. …Could it be?

“Alright!”

Benny made a firm decision and closed his eyes, completely opening up his Spiritual Sea.

After some thoughtful consideration (which actually just took a second), Benny chose to open his Spiritual Sea.

Living was more important. He could be somebody’s dog…

Becoming a dog wasn’t so bad, as long as he could at least continue living, right?

After all, living was more important than anything else. When you die, everything is lost.

He spent nearly a hundred years to become a Level 1 wizard, and it wasn’t so that he could end up buried in the ground.

Moreover, the man in front of him was incredibly powerful; he was the most powerful Level 1 Wizard that Benny had ever seen. There wasn’t anything bad about being his dog.

Benny continuously brainwashed himself.

Observing Benny’s actions, there was no surprise in Milton’s eyes.

“As expected of you.”

Milton Cheney was never planning on killing Benny. Killing Benny would bring no benefit and would not contribute to the White Raven Society’s control over Kolan Island.

Moreover, Benny was a unique individual. Cheney had found that out in the simulation.

The main reason the White Raven Society could so easily control Kolan Island in the simulation was because Benny had abandoned it.

Moreover, Cheney didn’t even have to lift a finger; Benny just ran away.

Benny didn’t even bother to assess the strength of the White Raven Society before running, not stopping for a moment.

After all, Kolan Island was his territory, where he had spent decades.

However, when the White Raven Society arrived, Benny simply disappeared.

Afterwards, Cheney tried to investigate Benny’s whereabouts. He was able to obtain some information but couldn’t find the man himself.

Benny was highly talented and had a knack for survival.

By the time Cheney left the Corner Sea Continent, Benny had even become a Level 2 Wizard.

Since Benny was so cooperative, Cheney didn’t feel the need to push further.

He swiftly imprinted the White Raven Mark into Benny’s Spiritual Sea and his bloodline.

With these dual imprints, Benny would never escape Cheney’s control unless he changed his body, even if he became a Level 2 Wizard.

“Lord! ”

Benny adapted to his new status rapidly.

Cheney nodded and informed Benny about the affairs of the White Raven Society.

He then delegated control of Kolan Island to Benny.

In terms of efficiency, subjugating one person and gaining control of an island was unmatched.

Hacing the White Raven Society slowly erode Kolan Island was far less efficient than simply taking direct control. “I understand, Society Master.”

Benny respectfully nodded and spoke.

Since he was already a part of the White Raven Society and couldn’t resist it, he decided to embrace it.

Benny believed he still had a bright future.

Besides the Society Master, he was the only Level 1 Wizard in the White Raven Society. Given the Society Master’s capabilities, the future of the White Raven Society was certainly promising.

By then, he could even be regarded as an elder member of the Society.

Seeing the energetic Benny, Cheney didn’t say more and left the place.

Benny had controlled Kolan Island for decades and needed no extra instructions regarding this aspect.

Several months later…

“Society Master, news has been received. A Level 3 Wizard -level treasure has been discovered in the Violet Continent six months ago. The news has gradually spread to our Corner Sea Continent.”

The man in white robe who was speaking in front of Cheney couldn’t hide his desire.

After all, this was a Level 3 Wizard’s treasure that would make anyone’s heart race.

If the treasure didn’t originally belong to Cheney, he would probably have had the same reaction.

Hearing this, Cheney didn’t show any reaction.

He knew very well that the news about the Level 3 Wizard’s treasure couldn’t be concealed. If the people from White Tower couldn’t find him, it made sense that they would spread the news.

But now, Cheney had no more worries, as the Level 3 Wizard’s treasure was no longer linked to him.

The Level 3 Wizard’s treasure belonged to Cheney, but what did that have to do with the Society Master of the White Raven Society?

“Pay no mind to it. If any disturbances arise in the city, suppress them.” Cheney spoke.

Unlike his choice to fan the flames in the simulation, he didn’t think that it was necessary in reality.

This news couldn’t be kept a secret and would inevitably be leaked. However, compared with the simulation where Cheney himself helped spread the news, the spread of the news in reality was slower.

“What about the people from Radiant Academy?”

“Society Master, the people from Radiant Academy have left. The Red Raven has handed over all the magic stones as we agreed.”

Cheney nodded.

The current Radiant Academy wasn’t as reckless as they were in the simulation.

The amount of magic stones they demanded this year was not more than last year’s, rather, it was a bit less.

But, once the White Raven Society began to develop rapidly, the demands of the Radiant Academy would gradually increase.

Cheney waved his hand indicating for the man in the white robe to withdraw. The man in the white robe duly took his leave, leaving Cheney alone in the apartment.

Within a few months, the influence of the White Raven Society extended to two small islands around Fenn Island.

Of these two islands, Kolan Island had already fallen into Cheney’s hands.

As for controlling the remaining island, it wouldn’t be too long now.

The development of White Raven Society in reality was much faster than in the simulation.

Now, there was no need for the White Raven Society to actively recruit members. There were plenty of people who wished to join them.

However, at the moment, Cheney was contemplating whether to make the journey back to Kasen Continent.

In the true body simulation, he had finally found a way back to Kasen Continent. However, the trip back wasn’t a matter of a few months.

In the text simulation, his fastest trip had taken a total of three years.

If he were to return again, the round trip would consume six years in total.

There were two whole continents between the sea region of Corner Sea and the sea region of Kasen Continent.

Even so, because Cheney had chosen to physically traverse the sea regions instead of travelling by a giant ship, the journey was manageable. If he had taken a ship instead, ten years still wouldn’t have been enough time.

This was too long, so Cheney was only considering it and hadn’t made a decision yet.

In the end, Cheney chose to temporarily set aside the idea of returning to the

Kasen Continent.

Of course, he hadn’t completely dismissed the idea, he just postponed the plan.

As for when he would go back?

Once he became a Level 2 Wizard, he would definitely make the trip.
