The Wizard Path From The Simulator

Chapter 9 - 9: 9 “New Simulation” and “Official Knight”! (Seeking Chase Reading)

Deep within Sun Mountain, a large tree stood.

The massive canopy was filled with countless branches and leaves.

A gentle breeze swept through, causing the leaves to sway delicately in the wind, rustling softly.

On a branch, a green venomous snake was slowly slithering about.

The snake had a flat head, a high nose bridge, small and cunning eyes. The sunlight, unobstructed by the leaves, shone ominously on the snake.

The next moment, the sound of rushing air filled the air as an arrow pinned the snake to the tree.

The venomous snake, its body covered with needle-like scales similar to fish scales, opened its mouth at the moment of impact, revealing two sharp fangs.

Its frenzied writhing was to no avail. Even a wizard could not save it, its head having been pierced.

Seeing that the snake had stopped struggling, Milton Cheney did not approach.

It was now the seventh day since Hunting Day had begun.

Since the start of Hunting Day, it could be said that Cheney was in the spotlight.

Hiding the prey he had hunted was impossible.

By now, everyone knew that the son of the Far East Earl had the strength of a quasi-knight.

And the rumors only exaggerated further. In the eyes of many now, Milton Cheney was an official knight.

Malcolm had also specifically found Cheney to inquire about this, and Cheney’s response was that it was all due to luck.

Of course, no one would believe that.

Running into a fierce beast by luck was one thing, but running into three was pushing it.

The nobles now looked at Cheney with an involuntary hint of awe in their eyes, and even Malcolm’s eyes were filled with undisguised worship.

It could be said that first place in this Hunting Day was already Cheney’s.

However, Cheney didn’t care too much about this. After all, his original intention of coming here was to go through the process, and all of these were unexpected.

Packing up his longbow, Cheney slowly walked toward the outskirts of Sun Mountain.

He didn’t plan to stay here any longer, and hunting any more was meaningless.

Now that a new opportunity for simulation had arrived, Cheney planned to use it as soon as possible.

He felt that this simulation might yield some different results.

……

Returning to the room that the Dawnstar family had prepared for him in More castle, Cheney sat on a long bench.

The next moment, a transparent blue light screen appeared in front of him.

[Name: Milton Cheney]

[Spirit: 1.3]

[Physique: 2.2]

[Realm: Peak Quasi-Knight]

[Magic: None]

[Breathing Technique: Golden Lion Breathing Technique (Proficiency 32/800)]

[Knight Skills: Lionheart Slash (Proficiency 42/800), Basic Riding Skills (Proficiency 128/800), Basic Archery Skills (Proficiency 630/800), Basic Swordsmanship (Mastered 523/1600), Basic Fighting Skills (Mastered 115/1600)…]

[Simulation Count: 1]

There wasn’t much change in the attribute panel, the only difference being that the number representing the simulation count had changed from 0 to 1.

If Milton Cheney had been suspicious last month, he was now certain that the simulation count was indeed once every thirty days.

Because this time, it was exactly thirty days since he had last received a simulation.

Once might be a coincidence, but if it happens twice, it can more or less be confirmed.

Cheney was quite satisfied with having a simulation once a month.

As long as the time to acquire simulations didn’t multiply, it could be considered good news for him.

[Do you want to start Life Simulation?]

Seeing this prompt, Cheney immediately answered ‘yes’ in his mind.

Just like the previous two simulations, the blue light screen disappeared instantly.

A string of black text emerged. Having already gone through two simulations, Cheney was naturally familiar with the process.

So, Cheney held his breath, his eyes intently fixed on the black text before him.

He had to make sure he didn’t miss any information.

[Life Simulation has begun, due to the low version of the simulator, it only supports text simulation.]

[Seventeen years old: you won first place on Hunting Day, earning considerable prestige among the nobles. Your father, surprised at your innate giant strength, did not doubt you and taught you the Golden Lion Breathing Technique.]

[Eighteen years old: with no resistance, you practiced the Golden Lion Breathing Technique bitterly and hit a bottleneck with incredible speed. In this year’s Hunting Day, you were once again first, and your relationship with the Marquis of Dawnstar’s daughter heated up rapidly.]

[Nineteen years old: you are still stuck at the official knight realm, but this year, Nellie Lilith, the Marquis of Dawnstar’s daughter, got engaged to you.]

[At twenty: you and Nellie Lilith have officially married, and the Golden Lion Family and the Dawnstar Family have formed a union through marriage.]

[At twenty-one: you indulged in marital pleasures, reducing your training sessions. Usual eight-hour practice sessions have been shortened to three hours.]

[At twenty-two: you remained indulged in domestic bliss, and the Path of the Knight seemed to have become an unbridgeable gap for you. However, you didn’t insist and casually went through training as if completing a mission.]

[At twenty-four: your father allocated a territory for you in the Far East Territory, thus you became a Lord. In the same year, your first daughter was born and you named her Jasmine Weasley.]

[At twenty-six: You stopped honing your physical skills. You felt that being a Lord was decent and you didn’t dwell on becoming an official Knight anymore.]

Milton Cheney frowned slightly upon reading this. The him in the simulator was quite unlike the real him. He should not have been so slack if he knew about the upcoming Lord’s War.

It’s highly probable that some memories related to the simulator were blocked in the simulation.

Thus, Milton Cheney remained silent and continued reading.

[At twenty-eight: you and your wife, Nellie Lilith got along harmoniously, and the territory was well-managed by you. In the same year, your first son was born and you named him Zeus Wesley.]

[At thirty: With a complete family and a territory of your own, your life was cozy. You hadn’t worn an armor or held a Knight’s Sword for over a year. The frequency of your meetings with your father also gradually reduced.]

[At thirty-two: Like always, a significant event occurred in the Golden Lion Family. Your father passed on the title of Earl to your elder brother, Nicholas Weasley. You attended the celebratory banquet. Your elder brother didn’t deprive you of your privileges, despite becoming an Earl. Your life carried on as usual.]

[At thirty-five: The Lord’s War broke out. The instigator of this war was the newly-appointed Grand Duke Goshawk. It was a war that swept across the entire kingdom.]

[At thirty-six: No one could escape from the sudden war. The Marquis of Dawnstar in the East River Province was the first one to get dragged into the war, and the Golden Lion Family couldn’t escape from it either.]

[At thirty-seven: Being in possession of a Peak Quasi-Knight’s strength, you once more put on your armor, picked up the heavy Sword, and plunged head-first into the Lord’s War.]

[At thirty-nine: War was brutal, especially when the Kingdom’s Epic Knight entered the battle, your father, elder brother, wife, son, daughter, they all died. You also were severely injured and fell into a coma, akin to a deathlike state. When you climbed out from the pile of bodies, you were in utter despair.]

[At forty: Hatred immersed you in boundless self-blame. The only thought that kept you alive was revenge. Your enemy was none other than that Grand Duke Goshawk.]

[At forty-two: You joined a clandestine assassination organization within the kingdom, and you forgot your previous name.]

[At forty-five: Years of assassinations and lingering injuries from the Lord’s War left you covered in scars. You used all your savings to buy a bottle of secret medicine from the Black Market.]

[At forty-six: After taking the secret medicine, you managed to successfully activate the Life Seed, a roll of the dice that had less than a 10 percent chance of succeeding. But you were lucky. In your pursuit of vengeance, you managed to activate the Life Seed and became a Knight!]

[At forty-seven: The after-effects of the secret medicine were significant; you were only left with three years of life. You started plotting a revenge plan against Grand Duke Goshawk. For this, you had already prepared seven years.]

[At forty-eight: You obtained a bottle of “Golden Poison” in the Black Market. This poison was extracted from the fangs of a golden viper snake, but it was too conspicuous and couldn’t be used for assassination.]

[At forty-nine: After racking your brains and countless experiments, using all your past-life knowledge, you purified an actual odorless and tasteless deadly poison.]

[At fifty: After years of planning, you snuck into the birthday banquet of Grand Duke Goshawk’s eldest son. You tampered with the banquet food. Hatred made you think that no one present was innocent. The effect of this toxin was slow, the poison tester didn’t notice anything abnormal. Your plan was successful. Over two hundred people that attended the banquet didn’t survive. Many ardent lives were lost due to your single thought. You too ingested the poison at the banquet and died. This tragedy shocked the entire Frostwinter Kingdom, but it had nothing to do with you any longer.]action

[Simulation Ends, please select your reward!]

[Retain Realm] or [Retain Technique]

Silence echoed, it was noiseless!

This was the first time Milton was so emotionally affected by a simulated life.

Despite it being just text, Milton could still feel the despair of his simulated self.

His simulated self did not have any external plugins.

But after witnessing every one of his family member die brutally, he relied on his past-life memories to formulate a bottle of odorless and tasteless poison.

Milton could hardly imagine what kind of desperate emotions that must have been.

And he could hardly imagine the process of refining the poison would have been how difficult, he only knew the words alone made him feel oppressed.

Milton let out a deep sigh, and then cleared away all of his negative emotions.

Milton calmed down quickly since this was just a part of the simulation. He would never let such a thing happen in reality.

“Retain Realm!”

The moment the thought crossed his mind, a significant change occurred in Milton’s body.

His heartbeat started to speed up, the loud thumping of his heart seemingly transmitting outside his body.

If he could introspect, he would notice a golden seed-like structure having taken root in the center of his heart.

Countless golden airflows emerged from this seed, first entwining his heart and then spreading throughout his entire body.

The sensation of this airflow was extremely palpable. Milton could even feel as if something was trying to surge out from within his body.

He could feel his strength skyrocketing, seemingly possessing a mountain-crushing might with even a simple clench of his fist.

All his muscles swelled; each breath he took was accompanied by a large, mechanical sound.

As time ticked away, his swollen muscles gradually returned to normal.

The sound of his breathing too gradually returned to its usual state, just a bit more elongated.

Milton clenched his fist tightly.

He felt that he could even burst a set of iron armor with his current self.

Of course, it wouldn’t be that exaggerated.

Even a Grand Knight could only cut through the iron armor with a sword.

Bursting it barehanded was just an illusion brought about by the sudden increase in strength.

The next moment, Milton visualized a thought. Immediately, a transparent blue light screen reappeared before him.
