I Can See Your Combat Power

Chapter 54 - Fifty: Resolutely (Asking for recommendation votes ~)

“So where is the Marshal Star hidden?” Tang Luo asked, his curiosity piqued as he stared at the bloodied man whose body was fully exposed but still showed no sign of the star.

Fang Han, covered in blood, spat a mouthful of bloody saliva at Tang Luo in defiance.

Tang Luo sidestepped Fang Han’s attack, “Still hoping to turn the tables, despite your current state?”

Fang Han sneered contemptuously, his eyes filled with determination.

How could he tell Tang Luo the location of the Marshal Star? If he didn’t surrender the star, he wouldn’t be killed. But if he did disclose its location, his death would be certain.

How could one stand against the behemoth Tang Clan without being fully prepared?

The Marshal Star was his safeguard when his plan was exposed, the assurance of his survival.

“So, you refuse to talk,” Tang Luo returned to his seat next to Fang Han, noticing that the latter seemed to have given up on attacking again.

Fang Han remained expressionless. Thanks to his strong physique, his wounds were beginning to clot and no longer bled. However, the clotted mix of red and black blood on his body made him look pitiful.

Tang Luo pondered. The Marshal Star must be on him. It was too important to leave it anywhere else and certainly not on their sunken boat. Otherwise, his explosion of the boat would have been in vain.

But where could a man hide something like the Marshal Star?

Tang Luo was curious.

Well, he could check everywhere bit by bit. There were only so many places to hide the Marshal Star on him.

“It can’t be in his intestines,” Tang Luo thought aloud, glancing at Fang Han’s lower body. A fist-sized object like the Marshal Star would block his intestines, causing him to die.

Fang Han remained impassive, choosing to ignore Tang Luo’s musings.

“Does that mean it’s in his stomach then?” Tang Luo thought, raising a foot aimed at Fang Han’s lower abdomen.

“No, that’s wrong.”

He contradicted his own assumption before his foot hit the ground. How could a fist-sized object like the Marshal Star be swallowed? Let alone, how would he extract it?

So, it couldn’t be in the stomach.

“What a waste that you’re not a magician,” Tang Luo mused. “You’re good at hiding things.”

The Marshal Star should be on him, but where exactly was he hiding it?

The heart, liver, spleen, lung, and kidney each had their space, where could the star be placed without bursting the organs?

Wait! An idea popped into Tang Luo’s mind. He kicked Fang Han, flipping him over.

The sudden movement caused Fang Han to throw up a mouthful of fresh blood. His former wounds ripped open again, bleeding profusely.

“What are you doing?” Fang Han gasped, disorientated from being flipped over.

“Stay still,” Tang Luo commanded as he stepped hard on Fang Han’s back, suppressing his struggling protest.

Tang Luo squatted down harvesting a small towel from his pouch, fixing his attention on Fang Han’s back as he wiped off the blood that pooled in the wounds from Fang Han’s left shoulder to his lower back.

“Ah!”

As Tang Luo squatted, he put more pressure on Fang Han’s back, worsening his horror and agony.

Now, he realized the pain he’d subjected others to during his interrogations. He understood why victims would scream out in torment.

The square towel wiped across Fang Han’s back, in the process revealing the hiding spot of the Marshal Star.

“That explains it,” Tang Luo murmured.

Tang Luo shook his head, tossed the blood-soaked towel aside, and returned to his wooden seat, lifting his foot off Fang Han’s back.

“You’re really something.”

Fang Han’s face turned white, he asked Tang Luo, “What do you mean?”

“It’s a shame,” Tang Luo answered wistfully. He genuinely admired Fang Han.

It wasn’t unusual for people to covet a valuable object. But it was rare to come across someone who would go to such lengths and take such risks. If it hadn’t been for his poor fortune in crossing paths with Tang Luo, Fang Han might have gotten away with his theft.

“What’s a shame?”

“You had quite a promising future,” Tang Luo sighed, standing up and looking down at Fang Han with a glint of sadness in his eyes.

Fang Han was no longer the invincible warrior he once was – not without his left kidney. The loss of one kidney meant Fang Han’s physical strength was slashed by half, and he didn’t dare to fight anymore.

In his attempt to steal the Marshal Star, Fang Han had destroyed his own martial foundation. In Tang Luo’s eyes, it was a foolish bargain.

Tang Luo’s face was filled with regret as he walked toward the fishing boat.

He knows, he knows! Panic seized Fang Han as he realized that he was transparent to Tang Luo’s eyes.

If he couldn’t use the location of the Marshal Star as his trump card, then Tang Luo would certainly kill him now.

Fear drove Fang Han to struggle with all his remaining strength. He flipped himself over and propped up his upper body with his hands that were broken in several places.

He wanted to see what Tang Luo was up to. Severe blood loss had dampened his focus, but he still tried to keep his eyes wide open.

Tang Luo rummaged through the fishing boat, eventually producing a small knife and a small shovel.

“What are you doing?” Fang Han asked, his eyes fixated on Tang Luo who was approaching with the tools.

Tang Luo’s face remained calm. He held up the small knife, “As you know, I need to extract the Marshal Star from inside you.”

Fear filled Fang Han’s eyes. He couldn’t believe that his supposedly infallible plan was exposed by Tang Luo.

“You’re lying. You have no idea where the Marshal Star is,” Fang Han cried out in desperation, hoping that Tang Luo was merely bluffing.

Tang Luo scoffed, “The Marshal Star is in your left kidney.”

He knows, he really knows! Fang Han was consumed by an overwhelming fear.

Tang Luo shook his head, not wanting to see Fang Han’s terrified face. He tucked the knife into his belt, took the small shovel, and began digging a hole. “What…what are you doing?”

Tang Luo looked back while continuing to dig, “I can’t just leave your body rotting in the wild.”

With that said, Tang Luo turned back and continued digging.

The soil was gradually removed, revealing a shallow pit.

As his own grave was gradually taking shape, Fang Han felt the grim reality of awaiting death.

Tears blurred his eyes. He tried to stand up and flee from the ghastly scene, but the profuse blood loss weakened him, leaving him incapable of standing. Instead, he tried to crawl away, scraping the ground with the broken bones protruding from his hands.

His bones scraped against the muddy earth, producing an eerie sound. Fang Han could only manage to crawl less than a meter before leaving a puddle of blood streaming down his body.

The sound attracted Tang Luo’s attention, who saw Fang Han’s face twisted in terror.

Their eyes met again, and Tang Luo remained calm.

“No, don’t kill me, young master, please don’t kill me.” Fang Han pleaded, trembling in fear.

“You’re about to die anyway,” Tang Luo said, eyeing the blood-drained Fang Han with apathy.

He realized that once he had made up his mind to do something, his heart could be as calm as still water, even in the face of such a bloody scene..
