Deviant: No Longer Human

Chapter 594: Nostalgia!

Whoosh!

She darted for the bed, reaching for her phone lying on the sheets—her last lifeline.

Just as her fingers brushed the device, Wang Xiao\'s hand shot out, grabbing it easily, holding it just out of her reach.

"Hmm," he said lazily, twirling it between his fingers. "You know it\'s against the rules, Rui. No phones."

"Give it back!" Qian Ruixin\'s voice rose in frustration. "Xiao Wang, I\'m warning you!" Her sharp tone masked the tremor in her words, but he wasn\'t fooled. She was always the older, but tonight, she felt small under his gaze.

Wang Xiao let out a low chuckle, inhaling the sweet, subtle scent of her.

Her hair, though neatly pinned, seemed ready to open at the slightest touch making her even more beautiful.

"I\'m just a little drunk, cousin," he said, his voice lowering as he finally tossed the phone back into her hands. She grabbed it, instantly retreating a few steps to maintain distance. "Can\'t you find a quiet room for me? Somewhere I can sleep off this... feeling?"

Her hands clutched the phone tightly, her breath uneven as she stood still, the distance between them not nearly enough to make her feel safe.

She didn\'t trust him, not tonight.

"You should leave," she managed to whisper, pointing towards the door with her one trembling hand.

She didn\'t want to make things difficult for him, but if she don\'t show strictness with him today, he would definitely go overboard.

Wang Xiao leaned back on the bed, propping himself up with his arms, his eyes never leaving hers. "You\'re too tense, Rui," he said softly, though there was nothing innocent in his tone. "We\'re family... you wouldn\'t throw me out like that, would you?"

Qian Ruixin clenched her jaw, her fingers gripping the phone even tighter as her heart continued to pound in her chest.

Wang Xiao\'s eyes stayed on Qian Ruixin\'s back, her hair now loose and cascading down her shoulders. He smirked to himself. "You know, Rui," he said casually, "it\'s strange how much younger you look with your hair down."

She stiffened but didn\'t respond, her back still to him.

"With your hair in a bun, you\'re more... composed, mature," he continued, tilting his head as if remembering something. "But like this... you remind me of that eighteen-year-old girl from seven years ago. The one who used to wear those loose full sleeved tops." He chuckled, his voice soft but sharp.

He paused, his mind drifting. "Funny thing is, I prefer you like this. But Anran, now she\'s different. When she lets her hair down, she looks too young—almost like a child. It makes me uncomfortable."

"But you..." he trailed off, smirking again, "you wear it well."

"Xiao Wang... Who is this Anran? What nonsense are you talking about? What did you do to Lingling? It\'s not good at all! It\'s a crime!" Qian Ruixin\'s eyes narrowed.

She watched him closely, wondering if his memories from seven years ago were resurfacing. The thought made her chest tighten, but as the words sank in, she unconsciously lowered her guard.

"Uh-huh…" Wang Xiao stood up, a sly grin spreading across his face.

Qian Ruixin immediately tensed, her body going rigid. "What are you planning, Xiao Wang?" Her voice wavered, her eyes darting around for an escape.

Without a word, Wang Xiao took a playful step forward, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "You know you can\'t run from me, right?"

Qian Ruixin\'s heart pounded. Oh no.

Whoosh!

She darted to the side, scrambling around the room.

"Stay away!" she called out, her voice strained with panic as she dashed toward the bed, running like a panicked bird.

"Oh, come on, Rui, run faster, or I\'ll catch you!" Wang Xiao teased, his steps quickening as he chased her.

Thud!

She leapt onto the bed, grabbing the first thing she could find—a pillow—and threw it at him.

Whoosh!

Wang Xiao dodged it effortlessly. "You\'ll have to do better than that!"

"Stay back!" she cried, grabbing another pillow and hurling it at him with all her might.

Thwack! It hit him squarely in the chest, but Wang Xiao just laughed, shrugging it off.

"Oh, how cute, attacking my poor heart…" he muttered, spreading his hands in a mock defeated posture.

Whoosh!

In one swift move, he lunged forward, and with a soft push, he tackled her onto the bed, pinning her down with ease.

"Wh—"

Qian Ruixin gasped as his arms wrapped around her from behind, hugging her tightly.

"Got you," he whispered, his voice low, almost teasing, as she struggled beneath him. "You really thought you could run from me?"

"X-Xiao Wang, let me go!" Her breath came in quick, shallow bursts, her hands weakly pushing against his arms.

Wang Xiao chuckled softly, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Not until you calm down. Can\'t have you running around like a wild rabbit, can I? What if you break your leg? I\'m fine with you in a wheelchair, but how would you help me in bed then?"

Her heart pounded in her chest, her body tense. She was trapped, but Wang Xiao\'s hold, though firm, wasn\'t hurting her. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to think of a way out, but his grip remained steady.

"Rui, you\'re shaking. Afraid I\'ll bite?" he added, though there was an odd gentleness to his tone.

"Xiao Wang… please…" she whispered, her voice barely holding steady.

"You\'ll be fine," Wang Xiao murmured, loosening his hold just a bit. "I\'m just playing... You know I wouldn\'t hurt you. But you do look cute when you\'re scared."

She stiffened at his words, but Wang Xiao only sighed softly, settling in, as if this little game of cat and mouse was nothing more than a way to pass the time.

Wang Xiao buried his face in the curve of Qian Ruixin\'s neck, inhaling deeply, the intoxicating scent of her skin making her squirm beneath him. He closed his eyes for a moment, savoring the sweet, seductive fragrance.

Why does such a gentle girl smell so much like a red rose—so dangerous up close?

Qian Ruixin shuddered, her body tensing as she felt his breath against her skin. "Xiao Wang... stop," she whispered, but her voice was shaky, her panic clear.

"Rui..." Wang Xiao began, his lips brushing her ear, his tone casual, like they were reminiscing about old times. "Do you remember that last sleepover at our place? You were staying over, and I was there too..."

"I don\'t!" she shot back quickly, her voice sharper than she intended. She bit down on his hand, trying to force him off, but it barely phased him. If anything, it seemed to amuse him.

Wang Xiao chuckled softly. "You can nibble on it all you want," he teased, rubbing his hand against her lips. "Might make me feel something... eventually."

"!"

Qian Ruixin\'s heart stuttered, panic flaring as she pressed her lips tightly together, trying to block him out.

Ignoring her resistance, Wang Xiao leaned in closer, kissing the side of her face as she writhed beneath him. "You\'re so smooth..." he muttered, his lips trailing over her cheek before planting another kiss, lingering just long enough to make her skin crawl.

"Xiao Wang, please stop this," Qian Ruixin whispered, her voice pleading now, but there was a helplessness in her tone.

Wang Xiao\'s grip around her waist tightened, his fingers slipping under the hem of her pajamas. "The last time you slept over..."
