Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 53: | 053 | Intelligence about the Foreign World

Since the day they had been rescued, the beastfolk refugees had rather been compliant with the United Navy. There was no resistance or even thoughts about its decision, which confused everyone.

However, through Laplace\'s words and Abraham\'s translation, they understood that the torture brought about by the slavers extinguished signs of resistance in the hearts of the enslaved beastfolks.

Naturally, this information turned the situation in another direction. Not only did the beastfolk refugees need physical therapy, but they also needed a mental one.

However, Laplace\'s indifference wasn\'t swept away and was noticed by Abraham. If one thought about it, she never did try to consolidate herself amongst the beastfolks.

He wanted to confront her why, but it seemed too personal to delve into it. However, it does make one wonder how a rebel leader could be indifferent to the ones she was supposed to free from enslavement.

Only time could tell, and Abraham didn\'t want to disrupt their growing relationship. She was a dragon, after all. An ally that needed to be prioritized in some way to another.

Other than that, things were going well for the beastfolk refugees as they had begun opening up to the port personnel who were helping them recover.

It was quite a beautiful sight, to say the least.

But… This did present another problem and that was the language barrier. The United Navy tried to learn the local language, but it proved too inefficient to do so.

They instead opted to use the Lingua Gem left behind by the imprisoned captain of the Pinguis Arca. It was an interesting artifact that needed to be studied.

Though... There was no way for the United Navy to efficiently study such things. Even trying to make Laplace help them, was of no use as the dragoness had no idea about how magic worked.

It seemed that whatever mystical thing she was doing, she had done it instinctively.

The Lingua Gem was primarily used for two things in the Port of Dawn. There was the recovery of the beastfolk refugees and there was the interrogation of prisoners of war.

Speaking of the prisoners of war, they had been a problematic bunch for Abraham to handle. He didn\'t forget the words of Laplace about them not having rights.

Logically, they would be able to do anything to these prisoners and not get repercussions. As if they were the ones imprisoned, their adversaries would do the same.

This was a world, where the strong thrived after all.

The military police were ordered to use the necessary amount of force when handling the war prisoners. Necessary can go far up and down depending on circumstances.

But nevertheless, keeping prisoners of war had its own benefits and that was intelligence. With over a hundred prisoners, they could cross-match every information they gained to create a temporary intelligence of the foreign world.

And they had discovered a lot from the prisoners, especially from the captain of Pinguis Arca, Crassus.

He had been unveiling swats of information regarding the Colonial Dominions and the nations of Europa. The information he had revealed was shocking even to the most aloof intelligence officers.

The first intelligence was the Local Sea Region Report. According to the captain and many others, Crescere belong to the sea region of the Ferus Sea that bordered the entrance to the continent of Europa.

These signified that the United Navy situated in the middle of the new and old world. Such a fact would cause problems for them in the future, and it didn\'t even end there.

The second intelligence was the Intercontinental Report. Through the words of Crassus, the continent of Europa consisted of several nations ruled over by their sovereigns.

Sovereigns were powerful mages that could sink mountains and split seas. They were practically the highest of the mages. How much of their abilities could be taken seriously was in question, but none dared to underestimate the foreign world.

Other than the sovereigns, there was also the League of Humanity. An alliance of all human nations in the world ruled together by the sovereigns.

This helped humanity stand united and not collapse from the pressure of rival or near-peer races.

The third intelligence was the final one. It was the most important as it was the information about the current adversary.

Called the Colonial Dominion Report, it was primarily about the Colonial Dominion of Terra. Its location on the map was uttered and the same with its various controlled tribal colonies.

With this information, it made it easy for the United Navy to understand the possible strength of their adversary.

All of this intelligence gained from the interrogation they had done was one of the greatest things they had won from the maritime security mission.

With it, the United Navy wouldn\'t be as ignorant as before and understand the geo and sociopolitical currents of the foreign world. It was a treasure that must be appreciated.

Abraham stopped reading the report and closed his eyelids. The report of the interrogation had just come and he had read the report from start to finish.

It was quite long, but useful nonetheless.

"Colonial Dominion of Terra, and the League of Humanity over it. While I\'d like to keep things in peaceful terms, it would be near impossible to see each other at leveled ground."

He sighed with clear disappointment in his tone. From the report given by the intelligence officers, the League of Humanity was extremely arrogant and xenophobic.

They would enslave other races and even their own, especially those with no signs of mana in their bodies. The humans of this world consider mana as divine and without it, a human can be considered as lower beings by fellow humans.

"Do we even have mana?" Abraham silently questioned while clenching his fist. The scenery of war was getting nearer by the moment. It was becoming unavoidable.

If he wanted for the United Navy to survive, he needed to get stronger and the United Navy must do the same. To preserve peace, they must prepare for war.

A dangerous yet rational thought.

Pretending that everyone wants peace was the path to certain doom. At least, with strength, they\'ll be able to negotiate and not get trampled by those around them.

Before Abraham could continue with his cold thoughts about the future, someone knocked on his door taking him out of his wretched daze state.

*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*

"Come in." He immediately responded to the knock and the door opened. What emerged from the other side was the Vice Admiral. It seems that another report must be given.

"Vice Admiral Charlotte Reporting!" She straightened her back and saluted to the Fleet Admiral. Abraham nodded and signaled her to report.

"Sir, I am here to report the completion of Highway 01." Charlotte softly uttered through her supple lips.
