MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 292 Reasons For The Meeting

Fortunately, unlike when Faulerei had mentioned he had the Bloodline of the Chosen, the system had reacted when he had mentioned that Valyr was a Herald, prompting the latter to open up a notification screen in his mind to take a look at what additional information he had gotten.

\'Well… that doesn\'t really answer anything.\'

Ding!

[You have gained a piece of information regarding your true identity.]

[The skill \'Royal Blood\' has transformed due to the piece of information you\'ve gained. The skill\'s name has been changed to \'Royal Blood of the Chosen\'.]

[You are getting close to finding out the entirety of your identity. However, many obstacles shall stand in your way to avoid you from realizing it. Figure out a way to get past all of that and the shackles binding you shall be released.]

[You have gained a piece of information pertaining to the World Quest \'The Future of Humanity\'. Additional quest information has been added.]

Inwardly letting out a sigh as he berated himself for thinking that he would gain the answers to his queries from the notifications, Valyr closed the notification screen for now, making a mental note to check the notifications in greater detail later. \'For now, I should focus on what\'s happening in front of me.\'

Nodding in response to Faulerei\'s greeting, Valyr pondered in silence for a bit before opening his mouth. "I have been told that I would be attending a meeting within the Imperial Production Guild, but no one told me what the topic of the meeting would exactly be."

"Is that so?" Elder Faulerei faintly nodded before proceeding to explain the topics their meeting would tackle to Valyr. "We shall only be discussing two topics during this meeting, one of which would be your involvement in the Four Pillars\' Inheritance, while the second topic would be a brief discussion of your identity."

"Braum Gladios, was it?" As Valyr nodded in response to Faulerei\'s explanation, the latter focused his attention on the man that had brought Valyr to the Ancestral Council. "Would it be possible for you to leave the premises for now?"

"Of course, your group has done a splendid job in bringing Valyr to the guild, so fret not that your efforts shall go unrewarded." Hearing the words that came out of Faulerei\'s mouth, Braum faintly nodded in response before giving all of the elders in the Ancestral Council a deep yet respectful bow. Telling Valyr that he\'ll be waiting for him at the guild\'s main lobby, Braum then turned around and left the room, leaving Valyr alone in front of the elders that made up the Ancestral Council.

"Shall we begin our discussion, then?" Nodding in satisfaction of Braum\'s response, Faulerei went ahead and began the discussion of their meeting, with all of the other elders remaining silent as the latter continued to speak. "Are you perhaps knowledgeable of what the Four Pillars\' Inheritance is, Herald?"

"All I know about it is that it\'s an inheritance that holds technology far more advanced than what we\'re used to, as well as the fact that it\'s the reason why the guild\'s Ancestral Council was formed." As these words came out of Valyr\'s mouth, Faulerei silently listened, nodding in agreement every once in a while.

"That would be correct. However, let me correct that last statement of yours," said Faulerei in response. "The Four Pillars\' Inheritance isn\'t only the reason why the Ancestral Council was formed, it is the reason why the entire Imperial Production Guild had been made in the first place."

"I see." Nodding, Valyr wondered if he had recalled Aster\'s words wrongly, only to find out that he had indeed done so. "Would it be possible to find out what the inheritance contains?"

"That would be fine." Faulerei nodded. "However, before I do so, could you swear to everyone within this room that you shall participate in the upcoming Four Pillars\' Inheritance?"

Though he already knew that he would participate in the inheritance no matter what since it contained highly advanced technology from what Aster had mentioned to him back then, the elders in front of him did not know that. With that, he softly nodded before making a solemn oath. "I, Valyr Zeihardt, under the witness of the elders of the Ancestral Council, swear that I shall participate in the upcoming Four Pillars\' Inheritance."

Whoosh!

At the very instant he had finished his oath, a wave of energy enveloped the entire room, giving everyone in the room the feeling that a being far stronger than them was staring at all of them. Fortunately, the feeling only lasted for a brief moment, with most of the elders inwardly letting out a sigh of relief as Valyr was left somewhat confused by the sensation he had felt.

"What you\'ve experienced just now is a special version of the binding oath." Noticing Valyr\'s faint confusion, Faulerei went ahead and explained what the man had gone through. "Unlike other binding oaths, which have a penalty attached to them, this version of the binding oath acts like a written contract of sorts, only making sure that you uphold your word."

"In any case, since you have promised that you will uphold your word, we shall uphold ours." Saying these words, Faulerei took in a deep breath before giving Valyr a narration of what was inside the Four Pillars\' Inheritance, a slightly reminiscent expression adorning the elder\'s face.

"As someone who has delved the Four Pillars\' Inheritance himself, I shall inform you that, without a doubt, entering the inheritance feels like entering a different world altogether," said Faulerei to Valyr. "Aside from the fact that the inheritance feels like a world that was waiting to be explored, there is almost no trace of mana within the inheritance whatsoever."

"However, even though there\'s next to no trace of mana whatsoever, the inheritance still holds highly advanced technology from a civilization that had gained the ability to explore the world beyond our own."

"A civilization that did not rely on mana in any way."
