I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 509: Annihilation

Chapter 509: Annihilation

Brawly quickly shook his head and said, "No, no."

Whether it was the earlier appearance of Darmanitan or the later arrival of Cofagrigus, neither of them was a Pokémon he could handle.

"Don\'t you all think the Pokémon\'s strength here is too overwhelming? Is it really safe for us to continue further?"

After witnessing the battle between Cofagrigus and Darmanitan just now, coupled with the appearance of Chandelure earlier, Sora\'s heart was filled with deep concern. Could they handle these powerful Pokémon that kept appearing in this ruins?

Marlon chimed in, "But we\'ve come all this way. Are we just going to return empty-handed?"

In truth, Marlon shared the same concerns, but he couldn\'t bear the thought of returning without achieving anything.

Upon hearing Marlon\'s words, everyone fell silent. Going back like this wasn\'t just a disappointment for Marlon; it was the same for everyone else.

"Let\'s go in. Since we\'re here, we might as well."

Finally, Yuga sighed.

No one opposed this decision.

The group approached the empty stone door, and Marlon pushed it gently. The seemingly heavy stone door opened effortlessly.

The first thing that caught everyone\'s eyes was a Volcarona enveloped in fiery red flames.

This Volcarona lay quietly on the ground, but the moment Marlon pushed open the stone door, it abruptly opened its piercing blue eyes and stared sharply at Yuga and his team.

Yuga also noticed that beneath the Volcarona was a complex circular array inscribed with strange runes.

However, Yuga knew that these runes weren\'t really runes; they were Unown.

As the stone door opened, the Unown on the array seemed to react to something, emitting sharp cries and transforming from mere symbols into tangible entities, hovering in the air.

As the Unown left the array, the Volcarona\'s expression turned unpleasant. In the instant the Unowns departed, cracks appeared on the array beneath it.

Ignoring Yuga and his group\'s sudden appearance, Volcarona shouted at the airborne Unowns, which began to panic, flying erratically.

Just as the Unowns seemed poised to return to the array, cracks on the array expanded to the extreme. Countless dark mist emerged from the cracks.

Yuga could feel a potent Ghost-type power emanating from that mist, much like the Ghost-type energy previously abundant in the ruins but significantly more intense.

"Did...did we cause trouble?"

Watching the mist gradually fill the entire space, Brawly stuttered.

"It seems so."

Yuga answered, his brow furrowing.

Eventually, the mist reached its zenith. With a loud "boom," the entire array exploded. Volcarona and the Unown were all blasted away.

Following the explosion, a silhouette formed within the dark mist.

"Hahaha, I\'m finally free!"

This was a talking Pokémon, not using telepathy but genuine speech. However, it spoke not the modern language of Pokémon but an ancient dialect. Yuga could only understand it thanks to the system\'s translation.

It seems our arrival has indeed unleashed something terrible, Yuga thought.

As the dark mist was completely absorbed back into the body of that Pokémon, Yuga and his team finally got a clear look at this creature—it was a shiny Cofagrigus.

Ordinary Cofagrigus has blue patterns on its head, but this one had purple patterns.

This Cofagrigus immediately spotted Yuga\'s group standing by the stone door and grinned wickedly, extending its four long arms, tentacle-like, to snatch them up.

"It\'s you who set me free, isn\'t it? I must express my gratitude," the Cofagrigus said.

Cofagrigus had exactly four arms, just enough to grab Marlon, Yuga, Brawly, and Sora, leaving the only female, Roxie, behind.

Not far away, when the Volcarona saw Cofagrigus capture the four of them, it immediately used its Flamethrower against Cofagrigus.

The searing flames hit Cofagrigus, but they were instantly dispersed.

Cofagrigus turned its crimson eyes toward Volcarona and taunted, "Do you still want to interfere with me? Without my seal, there\'s nothing you can do to harm me!"

After this declaration, Cofagrigus unleashed a massive Shadow Ball that shot towards Volcarona.

Volcarona was struck by the Shadow Ball, crashing into a stone throne behind it and shattering the throne into pieces.

"Now, it\'s time to entertain my saviors."

In the terrified eyes of Marlon and the others, Cofagrigus focused on them, and they could feel their life force gradually draining away.

Only Yuga showed no reaction. When Cofagrigus attempted to absorb Yuga\'s life force, the Ghost World Origin Stone in Yuga\'s mind flickered, blocking Cofagrigus\'s power.

Yuga\'s peculiar resistance quickly caught Cofagrigus\'s attention. "What\'s going on with you?"

Before Yuga could answer, Roxie and her Pokémon, along with the Pokémon left below, launched an attack against Cofagrigus.

Seeing this, Cofagrigus flung everyone except Yuga out of its grasp. Due to the life force drain, they had all fallen unconscious.

The three flung out by Cofagrigus collided with their attacking Pokémon, and Cofagrigus immediately fired several Shadow Balls, striking down Marlon\'s Samurott, Roxie\'s Crobat, Sora\'s Feraligatr, Yuga\'s Chimecho, and Brawly\'s Medicham.

With just one attack, all of them were rendered incapable of battling, including Roxie, who had also fallen unconscious.

Having dealt with the Pokémon below and Marlon\'s group, Cofagrigus turned its gaze back to Yuga.

"Tell me, what\'s going on with you?"

Cofagrigus\'s voice was extremely unpleasant, as if something were lodged in its throat, making a sound like the friction of two objects rubbing together.

Yuga stared at the Cofagrigus in front of him and realized that his Insight ability had no effect on it, somewhat reminiscent of his encounter with Muya (Dusknoir).

Seeing that Yuga remained silent, Cofagrigus\'s eyes grew even more sinister, and it tightened its grip on Yuga\'s hand.

"Speak! What\'s happening?!"
