I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 428: The Clone

Chapter 428: The Clone

Awake but still nestled close to Gon, Abra appeared very fond of him.

Gon, upon opening his eyes, found Abra in his arms and asked in confusion, "Who are you?"

Abra remained silent but affectionately nuzzled against Gon, clearly showing its attachment to him.

"This is a Psychic-type Pokémon named Abra. It seems to like you very much!" Yuga explained.

Upon hearing this, Gon placed his hands under Abra\'s armpits and lifted it up, asking happily, "Would you like to be my starter Pokémon?"

Gon had learned the term "starter Pokémon" from Yuga yesterday, and he used it now.

Abra nodded eagerly in response, indicating its willingness.

Yuga opened his Insight and looked at Abra in Gon\'s hands. He had promised Joe that the Chosen one\'s starter Pokémon should have blue potential.

He hadn\'t argued at the time because if the Chosen Hero\'s Pokémon wasn\'t strong enough, they wouldn\'t be able to complete the trial, which would ultimately be his problem.

Type: Psychic

Ability: Magic Guard

Gender: Male

Potential: Blue

Level: 15

Moves: Psychic Terrain, Teleport, Psyshock, Calm Mind.

...

This young Abra had exceptionally high potential, fully qualifying to be Gon\'s starter Pokémon. Not only did it inherit Psychic Terrain, but it also possessed the rare move Calm Mind and a hidden Ability.

There was no doubt that this exceptionally talented Abra had been drawn to Gon\'s unique psychic power. However, judging by Gon\'s reaction, it seemed he was completely unaware of his own psychic abilities.

Although this development saved Yuga from many potential problems, it deepened his already growing doubts.

"System, do you know what\'s going on?" Unable to comprehend the situation, Yuga turned to the system for answers.

The system replied, [ This child isn\'t entirely human; he carries genes of Pokémon within him. ]

Yuga was astonished by the revelation. A child with Pokémon genes? Did this mean there were instances of humans and Pokémon forming families?

The system seemed to read Yuga\'s thoughts and reminded him, [ This child is most likely a clone, not the result of a human and Pokémon union. ]

A clone! Yuga was shocked once again. It certainly fit the style of Team Rocket.

Yuga couldn\'t help but sigh; Team Rocket\'s genetic experiments were truly extensive.

This revelation made Yuga understand why Gon was so ignorant of the outside world; he had been merely an experimental subject, and no one had taught him anything.

But why had Team Rocket casually mixed him in with those kidnapped children?

Yuga asked, "Is his physical weakness also due to being a clone?"

The system replied, [ It\'s likely due to incomplete fusion of human and Pokémon genes, resulting in side effects. ]

Yuga asked, "Do you know which Pokémon genes are in his body?"

The system said, [ I don\'t know, it\'s a complex mixture, but they are mostly Psychic-type Pokémon genes. ]

Yuga was astonished and asked, "Are there multiple types of Pokémon genes in his body?"

The system confirmed, [ Yes, because the mixture of multiple Pokémon genes causes conflicts. In his current condition, without intervention, he probably won\'t live much longer. ]

Won\'t live much longer? How could this be? His mission still depended on Gon!

Yuga suddenly remembered the Large Gene Repair Medicine he used to treat Vivillon.

Desperately, Yuga asked, "Would the Large Gene Repair Medicine work on him?"

The system replied, [ Yes, it would. ]

Relieved to hear this, Yuga finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Luckily, he hadn\'t squandered the few Large Gene Repair Medicines that the system had rewarded him with. Otherwise, he would have had no place to cry today.

No wonder Team Rocket handled Gon so casually; they probably knew he didn\'t have much time left.

At the same time, Yuga finally understood why the future Gon had designated him to find. In Gon\'s condition, no one but Yuga, with the help of his Golden Finger, could assist him.

With the sequence of events finally clear, Yuga felt a sense of relief.

However, he suspected that Gon might be an early experiment for Team Rocket\'s research into Mewtwo, considering the words "psychic," "genes," and "clone." These associations couldn\'t be ignored.

Watching Gon interact joyfully with Abra, Yuga let out a sigh. No wonder the child didn\'t want to reveal his past; his unique identity was too sensitive.

He had the appearance of a human but couldn\'t be considered a human in the truest sense. This in-between status likely caused him immense suffering.

"Alright, Gon, stop playing with Abra; let\'s have breakfast," Yuga said.

Now that he knew Gon\'s true identity, Yuga\'s attitude toward him involuntarily softened. Whether out of sympathy or affection, Yuga felt an overwhelming protectiveness toward the boy.

Hearing Yuga\'s words, Gon obediently nodded. He put on his clothes and followed Yuga out of the tent.

After breakfast, Yuga retrieved the Large Gene Repair Medicine from his system backpack and handed it to Gon.

"Gon, drink this, and your illness will be completely cured. You won\'t have to suffer anymore."

Gon looked at the test tube in astonishment, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"Is it true?"

Gon knew his condition, and he knew he didn\'t have much time left. Being able to spend his final moments with Yuga had already been the happiest thing for him.

But today, Yuga told him that his illness could be cured, that he could continue living. How could he not be surprised?

Yuga smiled and said, "Of course it\'s true! Try it, and you\'ll see!"

Gon carefully took the test tube containing the Large Gene Repair Medicine from Yuga\'s hand, gently removed the stopper, and drank it all in one gulp.

After drinking the Large Gene Repair Medicine, Gon soon felt his eyelids grow heavy, a drowsy sensation washing over him.

Seeing Gon about to collapse, Yuga quickly supported him. Gon gradually drifted into sleep.

Abra, standing nearby, saw its owner fall asleep and began to panic, pointing and gesturing toward Yuga.

Yuga smiled and reassured Abra, saying, "Don\'t worry; Gon is just asleep. He\'ll be fine."

Just like with Vivillon before.

Hearing Yuga\'s words, Abra finally settled down.

Sleep, Gon. When you wake up, your life will begin anew.

Yuga looked at Gon lying in his arms, silently uttering these words in his heart.
