I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 167: League Reward

Chapter 167: League Reward

Yuga had initially thought his uncle would scold him for spending money recklessly, as he had tried to dissuade him when he wanted to build the Ecopark.

But to his surprise, his uncle not only didn\'t reprimand him, he even praised him.

During this time, the development of the YoYo Day Care hadn\'t escaped the notice of Yuga\'s uncle and aunt. They felt immense gratification and pride that their nephew was able to independently support the family\'s business. They understood Yuga\'s growth.

Yuga\'s original self was quite the underachiever. His uncle and aunt knew this very well. During the time of his parents\' passing, they had been worried that Yuga would spiral downward.

Now seeing Yuga truly growing, they finally felt relieved. So instead of opposing his expansion of the Day Care, his uncle was very supportive. He believed that today\'s Yuga could certainly plan his future well.

Knowing his uncle\'s thoughts, Yuga was deeply moved. Although they weren\'t his true uncle and aunt, their affection for him was genuine.

After bidding farewell to his uncle, Yuga received a call from Mr. Norman, who informed him that the League had decided on his reward.

"Mr. Norman, I\'m really grateful to you. I heard from Mr. Wallace that you put in a lot of effort for my reward," Yuga expressed his gratitude to Mr. Norman over the phone.

Mr. Norman didn\'t think he had done anything wrong. He said, "You\'ve made contributions to the League, so isn\'t it natural for them to reward you? Why thank me?"

"It\'s not that simple. Even if it\'s a reward, there are different levels of rewards. Anyway, I want to thank you."

Yuga didn\'t think that just because he had achieved something, Mr. Norman had an obligation to help him in various ways.

Mr. Norman understood what Yuga meant. Rewards did indeed come in different levels. Without Mr. Norman\'s efforts, Yuga\'s reward might not have been as good.

With a smile, Mr. Norman said, "Let\'s not exchange pleasantries. Let\'s get to your reward."

"Given your substantial contributions this time, the League\'s reward for you is quite generous. Besides the usual League points, considering that you also run a Day Care, we\'ve decided to provide you with a batch of high-potential breeding Pokémon."

Hearing this, Yuga was overjoyed and hastily asked, "Is this true? The League really wants to reward me with a batch of high-potential breeding Pokémon?"

Mr. Norman had already guessed that Yuga would be pleased with this reward. As he had expected, as soon as Yuga heard the news, he was ecstatic.

"Of course it\'s true. Why would I lie to you? But since you\'re being rewarded with breeding Pokémon, your League points will be slightly reduced as a trade-off."

Yuga wasn\'t overly concerned about League points. He wasn\'t currently a registered trainer in the League. Though he often considered himself a trainer, he was essentially a wild one.

For him, League points could only be used like currency at the moment. Moreover, he didn\'t have anything specific he wanted to buy.

"The League has provided a list of breeding Pokémon. You can choose one from this list." With that, Mr. Norman showed Yuga a paper over the video call.

Through the screen, Yuga saw the list: Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Golduck, Machamp, Ariados, Ampharos, Gastrodon, Drapion, Liligant, Leavanny, Tsareena.

There were a total of eleven options. Yuga first ruled out the Pokémon that required evolution stones to evolve: Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Liligant.

For some trainers, purchasing a high-potential Pokémon could deplete their savings, only to require further expenditure on expensive evolution stones after purchase, which put them in a difficult situation.

YoYo Day Care already had an example with the Gligar, so Yuga didn\'t want to add another one, even though some of the Pokémon were truly powerful.

Next, he excluded the Water-type Pokémon, Golduck and Gastrodon. Yuga actually liked Gastrodon quite a bit, as it had fewer weaknesses and was great for nurturing. However, the Day Care already had the Water-type Clawitzer, so it didn\'t make sense to choose another Water-type Pokémon.

Then came Ariados, Leavanny, and Drapion. Ariados and Leavanny was quite ordinary as a Bug-type Pokémon and didn\'t stand out either. As for Drapion, its fierce appearance might frighten children.

That left him with Ampharos, Machamp, and Tsareena to choose from.

Without hesitation, Yuga chose Tsareena. And here\'s why...

Firstly, he wanted to emulate the League\'s Three Starter Pokémon which included Water, Fire, and Grass-type Pokémon as their main lineup. Therefore, the Grass-type Tsareena was the best choice.

Secondly, when comparing the beautiful "Miss" (Tsareena) to the muscular "Mister," (Ariados) it was obvious he would choose the beautiful "Miss."

Actually, Yuga quite liked Ampharos, but in the Johto region\'s Mareep Farm, there were plenty of Mareep. So he decided to skip on it.

"I choose Tsareena," Yuga told Mr. Norman.

Mr. Norman nodded to indicate his understanding.

"The number of breeding Pokémon is ten. I\'ll transmit them to you shortly. Go to the Pokémon Center and wait. Your League points have been credited to your personal account. You can go and check."

After hearing Mr. Norman\'s words, Yuga nodded.

After ending the call with Mr. Norman, Yuga headed directly to the Pokémon Center. Upon arrival, he received a message from Nurse Joy, saying that someone had sent him ten Pokémon.

Yuga was relatively well-known in the small Verdanturf Town, and he was somewhat familiar with Nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center. Since he often brought his Pokémon there for check-ups, they gradually became acquainted. So as soon as Yuga entered the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy spotted him.

Having received the ten Tsareena Pokémon in their Poké Balls from the Pokémon Center, Yuga hurriedly returned home. He was eager to take a look at the newly acquired Pokémon.
