I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 125: Test (Part 2)

Chapter 125: Test (Part 2)

Fortunately, Yuga had his Pokémon as assistants. He sent out all his Pokémon except for Budew to help him deliver meals to the Miltank.

After that came the task of cleaning the ranch, which was relatively easy work. The only challenging part was the large area of the ranch, and his two legs were the ones working hard.

When Rand and Whitney woke up, they saw Yuga dashing around picking up Miltank\'s excrement. Yuga also noticed a mischievous smile from Whitney directed at him. The smile seemed incredibly odd to him.

Of the three tasks, grooming the Miltank\'s fur was the most arduous. Towards the end, Yuga felt like his hands were about to break.

Fortunately, the only comforting aspect for Yuga was that the Miltank were very gentle in nature. Whenever he groomed their fur, they would behave obediently. However, Yuga always felt that the way Whitney looked at him was rather peculiar.

In the afternoon, Yuga\'s task was to exercise with the Miltank.

The Miltank at Moomoo Ranch were the kind that slept after eating and ate after sleeping. To ensure they had sufficient exercise and produced higher quality MooMoo Milk, they were made to run around the ranch in the afternoon.

Yuga\'s responsibility was to supervise them and prevent any Miltank from slacking off.

However, the ranch was quite large. In order to supervise all the Miltank properly, Yuga had to run alongside them. He felt like his legs must have been cursed; they were the ones getting injured.

After a day\'s work, Yuga collapsed on the bed, utterly exhausted. He felt that staying at Moomoo Ranch for this period of time would probably turn him into a fitness fanatic. The amount of exercise was just too much: arm exercise brushing the fur in the morning, leg exercise jogging in the afternoon.

Yuga continued this strenuous work for a whole week. During these seven days, he transformed from a novice to an adept caretaker of Miltank, and he got along very well with the Miltank on the ranch.

During this time, Yuga experienced the task of bathing the Miltank.

This was even more exhausting than brushing their fur, but luckily, bathing only occurred once every three days. Hence, it was only a one-time affair.

It\'s worth mentioning that despite being exhausted every day, Yuga managed to wake up early and train with his Pokémon without interruption. This deeply "touched" Whitney, the lazy girl\'s, heart. She began to wake up early and train with her Pokémon, although not as early as Yuga. Still, it was enough to please Mr. Milton.

During this period, when Rand had nothing to do, he would train with his Blitzle and Psyduck. When Mr. Milton saw this, he would offer some guidance.

Mr. Milton was a seasoned Gym Trainer after all. Although his expertise lay in Normal-type Pokémon, many aspects of Pokémon training were universal. His guidance saved Rand from taking many detours.

Finally, on the evening of the seventh day, after Yuga finished jogging with the Miltank and returned, Mr. Milton called him over and said, "After these seven days of testing, I\'m very satisfied with your performance. So, I\'ll grant your request."

"Really?" Yuga asked, surprised and delighted.

Seeing Yuga\'s happy expression, Mr. Milton smiled and said, "Of course it\'s real. Starting from tomorrow, you won\'t need to do these tasks anymore. Let\'s go; I\'ll take you to choose the Miltank you need." With that, he turned and walked towards the Miltank.

"Alright, alright, alright." Yuga couldn\'t contain his joy, and he repeated "alright" three times, quickly following Mr. Milton\'s footsteps.

When they reached the Miltank, Mr. Milton asked, "How many Miltank do you need? Let\'s agree on a number; I won\'t give you more than that."

Yuga quickly waved his hand and said, "Not too many, about 50 will do."

For Yuga\'s Ecopark, 50 Miltank were already sufficient; in the entirety of Moomoo Ranch, they were a drop in the bucket.

Hearing Yuga\'s words, Mr. Milton clapped his hands and addressed the Miltank, "Those of you willing to go with Yuga, step forward."

As Mr. Milton spoke, one after another Miltank stepped forward, far exceeding the count of 50.

So, Mr. Milton had been having me take care of the Miltank so that they would voluntarily follow me? Grandpa Milton really put a lot of thought into this, Yuga thought.

"Alright, you can select 50 from these Miltank," Mr. Milton said, noticing Yuga still in a daze.

After hearing Mr. Milton\'s words, Yuga snapped out of his daze and activated his Insight ability to pick out 50 from the Miltank.

However, there wasn\'t much to pick from; the qualities of these Miltank were quite similar, ranging mainly between red, orange, and yellow with no green ones at all.

Nevertheless, Yuga chose these Miltank for the production of MooMoo Milk, not for any other purpose, so the difference in quality wasn\'t substantial.

After returning home, Grandpa Milton gave Yuga the Poké Balls containing the 50 Miltank he selected. When Yuga left, he could simply recall them into the Poké Balls for convenience.

At the dinner table.

Grandpa Milton ate his meal while saying to Yuga, "During your time at the ranch, something happened outside."

Curious, Yuga asked, "Something happened? What happened?" Being occupied with ranch work for the past few days, he hadn\'t had the time to keep up with events outside, so he found it strange.

"Upon returning from the Breeder Exchange Conference, the various Day Care were attacked by Team Rocket. They suffered heavy losses, and even the League\'s Day Care were not exempt," Grandpa Milton calmly revealed something that shocked Yuga.

Team Rocket\'s audacity was really something.

Before Yuga could express his opinion, Grandpa Milton continued, "Team Rocket\'s actions this time have seriously angered the League. They\'re currently making stringent efforts to capture Team Rocket members."

Yuga thought to himself, Team Rocket seems to be stepping onto the center stage of history.

"Why did they attack Whitney last time?" Yuga asked curiously.

"Whitney\'s situation was probably a misunderstanding. They had assembled their forces near the outskirts of Goldenrod City, and Whitney, who happened to be visiting the ranch, saw them. As she\'s my granddaughter, they probably mistook her for someone I had sent to investigate them, which led to their assault on her," Grandpa Milton said with a hint of helplessness.

Yuga finally understood, "So, that\'s what happened."
