Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 65 - The Prophesied One

During the Void invasion, Kenchi had slain thirteen Void Lords. However, when faced with the Great Terror of the Void, even he had been stripped of his divinity.

At the moment of ultimate crisis, the will of the Apocalypse manifested, forcing the Great Terror to retreat and safeguarding the world’s core. The world was shattered and transformed into data, governed by the rules of the Apocalypse.

For a thousand years, they had remained in this space, watching wave after wave of human warriors enter the dungeon, using their divine power to bless those who fought, granting buffs to aid their advancement.

They had willingly sealed themselves in this dungeon as part of a pact with the will of the Apocalypse. The Apocalypse required their assistance to help humanity evolve, but they were also waiting—waiting for the Prophesied One.

While the Apocalypse had driven away the Great Terror, the Void’s influence lingered. The Void Warlord Kaa, the most loyal servant of the Great Terror, remained in this world.

Though suppressed by the rules of the Apocalypse, and his body semi-digitalized, his power was confined to level 40, making him the final boss of the dungeon.

However, Kaa still carried the blessing of the Great Terror, and for centuries, he had been scheming to bring the Great Terror back into this world to seize control of the world’s core.

For the humans, Shattered Heaven was just another dungeon—a place to grow stronger. But for the gods, this was their home, the battlefield where they fought against the Void’s influence.

The Prophesied One was their last hope.

The signs of the world’s core foretold the arrival of the Prophesied One, who would be recognized by the core and crowned as the new emperor of the Saint Nuolmen Empire.

When that day came, the world’s core would be restored, and the Shattered Heaven dungeon would cease to exist. The Saint Nuolmen Empire would rise again.

“Marika, there’s a human… quite strong. Could he be the Prophesied One?” Kenchi asked with a grave expression, his eyes fixed on the circular mirror.

The reflection showed a young man, his handsome features framed by radiant armor, wielding a great sword as he shone with holy light.

He tore through hordes of Void monsters like a wolf among sheep, unstoppable and commanding. Though only level 22, the elite level 35 monsters couldn’t stand a chance against him.

This human was Qin Xian, currently in the midst of hunting Void Elite monsters, and his prowess had caught the attention of all the gods.

“So powerful!”

“His strength far exceeds that of his current level. His combat power is at least on par with a level 40!”

“He’s the strongest human professional I’ve ever seen!”

The gods murmured excitedly, each of them wondering if the Prophesied One had finally appeared.

But Marika’s brows furrowed. She stared at Qin Xian for a long time, then shook her head.

“Kenchi, being strong doesn’t make someone the Prophesied One,” Marika said, her gaze sharp as she scrutinized Qin Xian. “True strength doesn’t come from power alone. It comes from within. I sense no warmth or kindness in this human’s heart, no mercy for the weak.”

“He is not the Prophesied One.” There was a flicker of unease in Marika’s eyes, a hint of caution.

But there was something else Marika hadn’t shared.  This human gave her an ominous feeling, one that reminded her of the time she had faced the Great Terror of the Void itself. The sensation, though faint, was enough to unsettle her.

However, even Marika found this idea absurd.

She spoke softly to the gods, “The Prophesied One must possess a heart of kindness, compassion, and unwavering resolve. Only such a person can save this world.”

“And I sense that the day we meet the Prophesied One is drawing near.”

Marika’s heart stirred, and with a wave of her hand, the mirror shifted, revealing a different scene.

Deep within the Shattered Heaven dungeon, in a fiery abyss filled with molten lava, Ye Xuan stood tall, gazing at the countless floating islands in the distance. At his feet lay the bodies of countless Void monsters, piled up like small mountains.

“Brother Ye, thank you!”

“Thank you, big brother!”

Several professionals nearby expressed their gratitude. Their team had been locked in a fierce battle moments ago, and if not for Ye Xuan’s intervention, they would have all perished.

“We’re from the Vast Guild. I’m Wang Meng, the guild leader. Your help today will never be forgotten by the Vast Guild,” a burly middle-aged man said gratefully, bowing deeply.
