The Unique Guardian Beast Master in Cultivation World

Chapter 46 - 46: Dragon and Snake of the Big Swamp

Mountain god?

Black Mountain, already leading a pack of wolves away, couldn’t help baring his teeth and grimacing when he heard the faint sound carried by the mountain wind from behind him.

It was he who suppressed those annoying fox spirits with his books, and he who commanded the wolves not to harm them. Yet, these stupid humans were worshipping the Mountain god of Green Python Mountain. What does this have to do with the Mountain god?

“If you’re not convinced, you can also stand in front of them and let them worship you!”

Feeling the emotions of Black Mountain, Feng Qing’an couldn’t help but tease.

[First Soul Contract: Black Mountain]

[Species: Wolf Dog]

[Attributes: Demon, Beast]

[Potential Level: War General.Medium]

[Combat Level: Spirit Awakening-Top Rank]

Wolf King Black Mountain, leading the wolf pack and carrying books on his back, wandered through the mountains suppressing a dozen or so evil spirits. He found a few similar spirit items to the MO Jing Grass, but such items that could make ordinary beasts go crazy had lost their appeal to him. After eating them, his potential level merely rose another level.

He needed higher-grade spirit items that had been aged longer. Items similar or even inferior to the MO Jing Grass had no use to him. But even so, he had still advanced.

In less than a month, he had become a demon who could rival that former demon-tiger. The hidden spirit grass and the evil spirits that fell before him contributed largely to his achievements.

It wasn’t that Black Mountain started a killing spree, his battle record among the demons was still zero, mainly due to the merits of the saintly books on his back.

After wandering in the mountains for nearly half a month, Feng Qing’an and Black Mountain had figured out why demons would face two different outcomes when confronted with the holy energy.

Those demons who harm humans, even within a certain range, would arouse the surging holy energy, which would suppress and kill them with a majestic force.

Those demons that had not hurt humans would only be suppressed by the holy energy, losing their ability to move, but their lives were not in danger.

Just like the seven tailed fox spirits who were dragged by the wolf pack and placed in front of Black Mountain to await his distribution. The fox spirits enchants the minds of humans and steals their essence and vitality. Therefore, they became corpses, their souls probably crushed.

Howl-

After sniffing at those fox spirits, Black Mountain disdainfully stretched out his large paw and tossed them to the side, throwing them into the midst of the wolf pack.

“What a waste!”

Seeing the fox spirits thrown into the wolf pack by Black Mountain and devoured by the wolves, Feng Qing’an couldn’t help sighing.

The massive killing caused by these fox spirits was indeed too severe, so much so that even before Black Mountain could get close, the sight of them triggered the holy energy, and they were crushed to death by its dominant force. Once a demon died, it naturally returned to its original form. Feng Qing’an naturally didn’t see what the fox spirits looked like after they transformed. Otherwise, he would be curious to see what these enchanting foxes looked like when they transform into humans.

No ulterior motives, just pure curiosity.

After all, he would definitely have to venture out in the future, and he should learn as much as possible about the tricks of these demons. He needed to prepare himself so as not to fall into their traps in the future.

“Black Mountain, with your feeding method, it won’t be long before there are new demons emerging from your wolf pack. You must hurry up and increase your power, you can’t keep carrying books around. With these books here, no matter how much you feed them, none of these wolves can transform into demons like you.”

Black Mountain was personally recognized by his big brother, so he could ignore the suppression of the holy energy. But normal demons, even if they behave, would feel weak under the suppressive force of the holy energy, unable to muster any strength.

Howl-

Black Mountain heard what Feng Qing’an said, and immediately cried out. It had been diligently gathering spiritual objects scattered across the mountains, nearly covering the entire peripheral areas. Now, it prepared to delve deeper into Green Python Mountain.

“Go ahead!”

Under the tranquil shroud of night, the mountain wind blew across a lake created by the convergence of countless mountain streams, causing ripples to form all over the surface. At that moment, the rustling sounds of tree leaves began to rise.

Situated at the center of Lake Heart Island was an immense ancient tree. Its trunk was thick and straight. The coarse, cracked bark, resembling scales, contrasted against the green leaves which shimmered under the starlit moonlight, appearing crystalline and finely carved like jade.

However, amidst the symphony of rustling leaves and splashing water, a peculiar sound rose. As a cloud drifted away from the moon, the clear starlit moonlight shone directly on the ancient tree.

Immediately, a glinting cold light, akin to one from iron, reflected off the tree. This light, however, was subtly writhing, making the peculiar sound even more distinct.

The sound originated from a gigantic white snake residing within the tree crown. The unusual noise was the sound of its scales rubbing against the tree trunk.

As the gigantic snake moved within the crown, the branches of the ancient tree, burdened by the snake’s colossal weight, slightly trembled. Lustrous leaves were then shed from the tree.

Finally, the enormous white snake adjusted to a comfortable position, halting its movement. Consequently, the strange noise disappeared.

Nevertheless, the terrifyingly vast skull of the snake was now revealed, sticking out from the thick foliage. Under the moonlight, the snake’s scales even gave off a metallic gleam, as if they were forged from white iron.

All was tranquil within the mountains today!

Time for a nap!

The snake stared at the unchanged mountain scenery that it had been viewing for hundreds of years now with its cold, piercing eyes. Afterwards, it began to close its indifferent eyes, planning to slumber once again, patiently waiting for the arrival of winter, or simply to sleep through it altogether until the arrival of spring. This warmed the snake’s spirit.

Howl-

A wolf’s howl echoed from afar in the mountains. The snake paid it no mind. This was a sound it had heard countless times in its centuries-long mountain life and had grown accustomed to.

Howl-

It seemed that a pack of wolves was on its way.

Even so, the snake continued to ignore it, presuming the wolves to be a pack in search of water. Merely beasts. If they dared to drink its water, then let them. They deserved to be rewarded for their audacity.

Resting its head amid the tree branches, the snake could already feel the vibrations from the ground indicating the approach of a large group of creatures.

Bold beasts!

The snake, its eyes closed, couldn’t help but think. Beasts of such scale were usually commanded by a monstrous creature. Being of the similar kind, they would sense its presence. And yet, they dared to approach its territory. Clearly, they must have some objective.

Did they expect to seek refuge and hail him as their leader?

Unfortunately for them, it had no interest. It seemed this beast king, commanding its subjects, had chosen the wrong monster to approach.

Hmm!?

Wait!

A faint sense of oppression welled up within its heart. The snake suddenly opened its eyes, and at that very moment, the feeling of oppression peaked. The snake immediately saw where this pressure was coming from.

It was the grand, golden light, filling the whole lake, and covering the skies!

Such imposing righteous aura!
