Chapter 461: 409 The demon king of the fivefold Spirit Realm? I’m afraid he doesn’t have a chance! (Fourth update, please subscribe for monthly tickets.)

“Oh?” Pei Xuanjing replied indifferently. He didn’t seem overly concerned.

“This Howling Moon Gray Wolf’s bloodline appears exceptional. If it breaks through the seventh level of the Spirit Realm and completes bloodline reversion, it may transform into a Howling Moon Sky Wolf, the supreme bloodline of the Wolf clan,” Mr. Wu continued.

Pei Xuanjing chuckled lightly: “Isn’t that a pity then? It seems it may not get that opportunity.”

“Insolence!”

“Arrogant human!”

Not keeping their conversation private, their words carried by the wind, infuriating the Great Demons nearby.

The humans in the vicinity looked at Pei Xuanjing and Mr. Wu, their expressions differing greatly.

However, this composed demeanor between the two seemed to influence everyone around, making them feel much more at ease.

“Should I take action, or should you?”

Pei Xuanjing directed the question at Mr. Wu.

Upon hearing Pei Xuanjing’s inquiry, everyone else’s expressions subtly changed, their gazes filled with curiosity as they turned to Mr. Wu.

Mr. Wu, a member of the Witch Deity Teaching, has always been a mystery to many. Even after living among them for years in Military City, he kept mostly to himself, seeming to dislike mingling.

However, he had once fought against a Great Demon at the Spirit Realm Third Level undefeated, leading many to believe he too must possess similar strength.

Upon hearing Pei Xuanjing’s comment now, those familiar with his manner of speaking quickly realized that the formidable man standing before them was no simpleton. Otherwise, Pei would not have said what he did.

Xue Hanyi and his sister, and Mu Binghua, looked at Mr. Wu with a slightly different expression, a hint of caution rising in their hearts as they speculated about his real intentions.

Mr. Wu kindly refused Pei Xuanjing’s offer: “Please, National Teacher, allow me to decline. It’s your turn.”

Seeing the curious and skeptical gazes of the crowd, Mr. Wu merely smiled. He was well aware that Pei Xuanjing intentionally revealed his strength as a test.

He understood. He himself would have done the same, if not in such a straightforward manner.

“Alright!” said Pei Xuanjing. His probing was subtle; he would not force matters. After all, he believed he would eventually uncover Mr. Wu’s true intent.

“Since it’s agreed, let me test the strength of this beast!” With that, Pei Xuanjing began to stride forward.

Seeing Pei Xuanjing spring into action, Mr. Wu’s eyes flickered. He muddled on: “If the National Teacher could defeat the Howling Moon Gray Wolf, it might greatly impact the upcoming plans of the Divine Dynasty.”

Hearing Mr. Wu bring up the Divine Dynasty made Pei Xuanjing chuckle. His opponent indeed knew how to bargain.

No sooner had Pei Xuanjing revealed Mr. Wu’s strength and his intent to test it, Mr. Wu spun the conversation around to bring up the Divine Dynasty, and he did so in front of Xue Hanyi and others. He was clearly indicating that they shared some top-secret information.

Ignoring everyone, Pei Xuanjing halted his steps and confidently declared: “Let’s hope it goes as you say.”

“I have no intention of deceiving the National Teacher,” replied Mr. Wu, with marked amusement.

“Okay!” Pei Xuanjing nodded, surveying everyone and letting out a hearty laugh: “Everyone wait and watch! Let’s see how stiff the monster king is!”

Once again, Pei Xuanjing stepped forward, and almost instantly, a frightening aura erupted from him.

The Great Demons, initially ready to scorn Pei Xuanjing’s audacious words, fell silent, swallowed by the terrifying aura he was emitting. The words they intended to spit out stuck in their throats.

At this moment, the terrifying aura emanating from Pei Xuanjing spread far and wide. They could sense it – anyone daring to insult him now would meet immediate death.

Their beastly instincts made them fear the powerful, blocking any words in their throats. They could only watch in silence as Pei Xuanjing swept past them.

“Indeed worthy of his reputation!” muttered Eagle Seventeen, feeling chills creep up his spine as he watched Pei Xuanjing’s departing figure.

Of all the Great Demons present, Eagle Seventeen knew the most about this man from their Ancestral Land – perhaps because his minion eagles had been constantly feeding him information. He knew from their messages that among all humans, Pei Xuanjing’s name came up the most.

Initially, he had dismissed Pei Xuanjing as a mere braggart. But now, as he felt the terrifying pressure, his soul seemed to shiver with dread, as though death loomed near.

Pei Xuanjing took another step forward, with powerful currents of air circulating around him. He covered several miles with a single stride, and in the blink of an eye, he had closed the distance to the Howling Moon Gray Wolf.

The moment Pei Xuanjing’s formidable aura burst forth, the Howling Moon Gray Wolf instantly sensed his presence. Twisting its massive head, its eyes—each the size of a basin—emitted a sinister, bloody light as it stared at Pei Xuanjing.

“Human, you are walking towards your death!” The Howling Moon Gray Wolf’s voice echoed with a chilling menace.

As the leader of the Demon Race invasion of the Ancestral Land, the Howling Moon Gray Wolf was incensed. In the short time it had been in seclusion, the promising situation had turned upside down.

Countless demons had been slain by the human armies; the Spiritual Demonic Beasts they had carefully nurtured were all wiped out. All that remained were a few Great Demons that came with it. In fact, had it not come out of seclusion earlier, those remaining would have perished as well.

The furious Howling Moon Gray Wolf didn’t give Pei Xuanjing a chance to speak. It howled at the sky, its sharp cry echoing through Heaven and Earth.

Then, a horrifying aura soared towards the sky, stirring the wind and rain. As it lifted its gigantic paw, accompanied by a deafening howling wind, it swiped down at Pei Xuanjing.

With their inherently strong bodies, the Demonic Beasts were formidable. As a fifth-level Spirit Realm Demon King, its physical strength was tremendous. Its enormous paw gleamed ominously as it descended upon Pei Xuanjing, evoking a sense of impending dismemberment.

Bang!

Pei Xuanjing moved swiftly, evading the paw strike. A cloud of dust kicked up and the ground where he stood moment ago crumbled.

The next moment, the Howling Moon Wolf King leaped up, transforming into a burly man nearly ten feet tall, who hurled his fists at Pei Xuanjing.

Torrential fist winds roared out, causing the Heaven and Earth Essence Qi to swell wildly. The terrifying power seemed on the verge of shattering space itself.

“Hehe.”

Pei Xuanjing chuckled lightly and the Shenxiao Origin Qi within him surged forth. The Innate Thunder Gang Qi spread throughout his body in an instant, and the Primordial Qi circulated throughout his body, pulsating within his muscles, skin, and blood, vibrating in a strange rhythm. He thrust out a palm.

The horrifying palm carried with it the endless, supreme Gang wind, visionary as lightning. He stepped forward, every step releasing a powerful current with an aura as formidable as a mountain.

Boom!

The fist and palm collided, triggering a terrifying impact resembling a volcanic explosion, dispersing shockwaves in all directions.
