Chapter 489: 483: Heart to Heart

“It’s okay, don’t be scared, don’t be scared. I will arrange a new assistant for you when I get back, so this kind of thing won’t happen again.” Finn gently reassured her.

“Um… who is Sarah?” Although Kay was frightened just now, she did see Sarah dispose of those men. Even without any prior exposure to this field, she understood that Sarah was not just an ordinary person.

“She is a secret agent.” After some thought, Finn decided not to hide this from Kay. The feelings between Sarah Wood and Kay Lee were probably genuine. While agents are not supposed to harbor emotions, humans inevitably have feelings. Telling her this may distress Kay, but after all, Sarah could be seen as manipulating their feelings.

“I’m sorry.” Kay’s head was still buried in Finn’s chest as she spoke in a muffled voice.

“Silly girl, what are you apologizing for?” Finn said, slightly perplexed as he stroked Kay’s hair.

“She must have come for you.” Kay stated.

“Don’t worry, even if she hadn’t come, others would. Plus, I have nothing to hide. As the saying goes, a just cause fears no accusation.” Finn grinned. Although he hadn’t investigated Sarah’s identity, anything that could expose Finn or the existence of “Zero” would certainly be captured by Olivia; he needn’t concern himself about it. Sarah knew very little.

However, based on when Sarah appeared, she was probably tasked to investigate Finn initially, not expecting him to be connected with Hustle Spot. By the time she realized Finn’s self-exposure, her situation didn’t permit her to easily leave.

“But…”

“No buts. It’s not your fault.” Finn interrupted Kay, lifted her from his lap, and held her close. He only then turned to gaze into her slightly terrified face, “This has nothing to do with you. Besides, Sarah came to ensure your safety. If anyone should apologize, it’s me. These people definitely came for me. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have thought of kidnapping you and causing you such fright.”

Kay quickly shook her head before speaking, “I don’t blame you. I chose this. Can we both stop apologizing?”

“Alright.” Finn nodded after he held Kay closer.

Just as Kay was about to say something, Finn’s cell phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and glanced at the screen. As expected, it was Jack Lewis. Finn picked up the call.

“Bro, you okay? Is she okay, too?” Jack talked as if nothing had happened, as if he was not the one who had dispatched Sarah.

“I’m fine. You guys are indeed omnipotent.” Finn grumbled, although aware that among his staff and closers, many were agents, the fact that Sarah was one came as a surprise.

“Haha, I hope you won’t hold this against me. You know, in our line of work, we have to do certain things knowing that they might offend people. Look, this time it worked out well… I protected your woman, didn’t I? Also, we had just arranged this while investigating how you became the world’s richest man so quickly. We haven’t made any new plans since.” Jack tried to lighten the mood.

“You are truly shameless. But I’m used to it. Tell me, any new information?” Finn asked bluntly. Although he was not comfortable with it, he wouldn’t hold grudges over incidents like these. They were unavoidable. These intelligence organizations see such situations regularly. While you can discover their agents and make arrangements behind the scenes, you can’t prevent them from sending agents in the first place.

“Nothing for now. We’ve registered the faces of these people into our intelligence system but haven’t found anything yet. We also don’t know how they entered the country.” When he reached this part, Jack’s tone turned serious.

“I see. Grant Lewis doesn’t recommend sharing the information you have with me, does he?” Finn asked casually. Despite knowing that Olivia had already registered all this information, it wouldn’t hurt if he had it firsthand.

“We can share everything with you.” Jack was equally straightforward.

“Alright then. If there are any updates, let me know. Also, our intelligence network isn’t weak either. If we learn anything, we’ll inform you.” Finn contemplated before speaking. The intelligence systems of these countries shouldn’t be underestimated. While Olivia was very powerful, she could only rely on the internet.

Moreover, the Internet couldn’t procure all the information they required. Some information could only be obtained by these intelligence organizations as they had extensive databases.

After hanging up, Finn patted Kay’s hand and then said, “Kay, there are some things I want to tell you.”

“What is it?” Kay asked curiously. Her mood had significantly stabilized. With Finn by her side, she felt much safer.

“Once we’re back in Celeston City, let’s go on a trip to Proudshire.” After some thought, Finn suggested with a smile.

“Okay.” Kay agreed without hesitation.

There were certain things Finn didn’t want to keep from Kay. Having a secret without anyone to share it with can drive a person mad. Finn felt Kay’s sincerity and was open to telling her things. He didn’t want to go through a situation like this again. Perhaps he might not tell Kay about the existence of “Zero”, but he would selectively tell her other things.

Moreover, many of Finn’s plans were nearing completion. Perhaps in another year, the whole world would know about the existence of extraterrestrial technology in Hustle Spot. Now would be a good time to tell Kay. Many things can’t be hidden forever.

When Finn arrived back in town, his car was pulled over before he could get home. He spotted several people outside. He patted Kay’s hand and then got out of the car.

In front of Finn stood Kevin Worthington, the former commander of the Blood Blade Special Forces, who was now retired.
