Chapter 471: 465: Famous Prodigal Son

Chapter 471: 465: Famous Prodigal Son

“Would these aliens be roughly between 1.2 to 1.5 meters in height, with blue skin and scales, equipped with advanced gear that could render them optically invisible, and featured big ears, with a hooked nose somewhat reminiscent of a pig’s snout?” Finn asked, somehow reminded of the picture of two aliens shown by Charles Mason, who was part of Sophia Worthington’s crew.

“As expected, you do know.” Gregory reacted with a typical ‘I knew it’ expression, “You are absolutely right; they even carried a peculiar piece of equipment that I believe is designed to erase human memory. In that overwhelming moment, I had to forcibly hypnotize myself to remember all of it.”

After listening to Gregory’s description, Finn could only utter, “You are quite something! But you’re mistaken; I have no connection with them. I am aware of their existence but I have nothing to do with them. As for my knowledge, I came to know of it from someone else who also witnessed them killing someone. So, the question is, do you want to leave this place now?”

Finn wasn’t sure why Gregory was sharing all these things with him but it was clear that Gregory was a genius. Most people would already be overwhelmed by learning so many languages, let alone the Liga State’s indigenous language. And if that was not enough, this indolent genius was once a physicist and had even developed a revolutionary detection device before becoming a CPU architect and a computer hardware engineer. It went without saying that he was exceptionally skilled.

“Of course, what normal person would want to stay here? Do you think dealing with these lunatics is fun? Although, sometimes, their perspectives can be interesting.” Gregory shrugged nonchalantly.

Finn was speechless for a while before he finally asked, “Tell me, didn’t you teach the guy lingering at the hospital entrance, trying to fish with a basin?”

“How about that? Not bad, huh? My experiment proved that even lunatics can learn a lot if approached in the right way. These patients have a remarkable level of patience that can surpass ordinary human endurance. He’s been fishing there non-stop for two years now, but still, seems quite content doing it.” Gregory announced gleefully.

Finn gave in, “Alright, I admit, your boredom has reached unparalleled heights. Let’s go now. I assure you that I will find a suitable workplace for you.” Damn this genius and madman; no wait, this lazybones and madman have earned my utmost respect. This is badass!

“But I have one condition.” Gregory held up a finger.

“Go ahead.” Finn immediately nodded.

“I couldn’t care less about my salary but I need a good meal, a luxury suite in a hotel, and two beautiful women.” Gregory voiced impatiently.

“Aren’t you scientists all supposed to be consumed with your work, indifferent to worldly pleasures?” Finn was taken aback; this was far from what he had anticipated.

“No, I’m different.” Gregory adamantly shook his head.

“Alright, let’s go.” Finn gave a resigned shake of his head before turning to walk away. When he stepped outside, he noticed Jim Lewis already waiting there. He pointed at Gregory and directed Jim, “Take him and fulfill his demands, no worries about the expense.”

“Wait, I want to pick the women myself.” Gregory interjected boldly.

“Sure, don’t worry about it.” Finn waved it off nonchalantly.

The world may lack many things but not women willing to sell their bodies for money. Can’t you find such women in any five-star hotel? Most people are just ignorant. As they walked out of the mental hospital, Jack Lewis checked his watch and looked at Gregory trailing Finn, saying, “I thought your discussion would take longer.”

“Not necessary. All I needed were two beautiful women to lure him out here.” Finn replied with a grin.

“Do you think I would believe that? But before we go any further, there is something I want to ask.” Jack Lewis turned towards Gregory Worthington.

“What do you want to know?” Gregory responded innocently.

“Is the power outage in the entire neighborhood your doing?” Jack Lewis asked Gregory.

“Yes, it was me. It was the first test run hence the technical issues; it consumed a lot of energy. So yes, the power output was rather large.” Gregory admitted.

“Good, you will pay for the damage.” Jack Lewis seemed satisfied and turned to Finn Lewis.

“Why should I pay for it?” Finn almost bit off his own tongue in frustration, “What does it have to do with me?”

“Isn’t he your employee now?” Jack Lewis asked Finn.

Finn turned to look at Gregory and after a moment of stunned silence, he finally nodded with a bitter smile and said, “Fine, he is my employee. I will pay. Just send me the bill.”

“Don’t worry, you won’t need to pay much. Compensating for all the burnt circuitry and transformers in the neighborhood will cover it. I will have the bill sent to your place.” said Jack Lewis, patting Finn’s shoulder.

Finn shook his head, pulled out a checkbook from his pocket, quickly wrote down a number and handed it over to Jack, “Here is a cheque of 100 million Flame Nation coins, that should suffice. Consider any extra as my donation.”

Jack’s eyes gleamed as he turned to Gregory Worthington, “Why don’t you do it a few more times?”

Finn almost collapsed, “You’re being shameless now. Haven’t I earned my money through blood, sweat, and tears?”

“Haha, I was messing around, don’t take it seriously. You are indeed worthy of your title, World’s Richest Man.” Jack Lewis replied jestingly.

“I think you wanted to say something else. That I am easily living up to my reputation as a famous Prodigal.” Finn shot back with a roll of his eyes.
