Villain – Peeking at the Diary, the Female Leads’ Personas Collapse

Chapter 41 - Peanuts, Sunflower Seeds, and Cola

“Tonight, I want to see how Ye Aotian dies.”

How he dies? That guy is the protagonist—how could he possibly die? But still, they had to go along and act out this scene.

“Then young master, does Li Long have a chance of winning?”

Chen Fan smiled and said, “Of course, he has a chance. He has many skilled fighters under him, and he’s even hired a master of ancient martial arts, Jiang Cheng the Lightning Hand. This guy is ruthless. I don’t know much about ancient martial arts, but I can tell you, this guy is very strong.”

Damn, stop throwing out these lines! I don’t even know how to respond. Why is there so much drama?

“Ancient martial arts? My master talked to me about it, said I have the talent for it.”

Of course, you have talent. You’re basically a monster, aren’t you? Damn it, just by sleeping with you, I could probably level up.

“So, what level are you at now?”

“Seventh rank, I suppose. Young master might not understand ancient martial arts. Would you like me to explain?”

“Go ahead.”

“Ordinary fighters are unranked, and top-tier special forces soldiers barely qualify as ninth rank. Then, those a bit stronger would be eighth rank. Below first rank, the differences are mainly in speed, technique, and reaction time, not to mention endurance. But once you reach first rank, you start developing attributes. I’ve seen someone who could make flames shoot from their hands.”

Chen Fan nodded and continued to ask, “And above that?”

“I don’t know. I’ve never encountered it. Even my master is only a fifth-rank expert, but he’s old now.”

Impressive. You’re really telling me everything, huh? You’re really committed to this undercover role.

Chen Fan applied a bit more pressure. An electric current ran from his fingers.

Zhu Yeqing was startled, exclaiming, “Huh? Static electricity?”

“Yeah, static electricity.” Chen Fan held back his laughter. The system’s abilities were quite fun, after all. Ye Aotian had encountered his first group of opponents. Of course, Ye Aotian didn’t come alone—he brought four men with him.

It was clear these four were from abroad. They fought with deadly precision. And behind Ye Aotian stood a man.

From memory, this man seemed to be Ling Xiaoyun, Ling Yuyan’s older brother. He was probably the one the Ling family had sent to help Ye Aotian. As for Ling Xiaoyun’s strength, Chen Fan had no idea.

In fact, Chen Fan didn’t care about the strength of these people. Even if they were above first rank, it had nothing to do with him. All he wanted was to follow the plot, then die, and finally return to his own world. The battlefield was getting bloody.

It seemed Li Long’s side wasn’t unprepared; his men were indeed skilled. Even though Ye Aotian had improved and broken through, there were still too many people for him to handle. However, Ye Aotian wasn’t one to come unprepared either. He had already convinced quite a few people to defect.

As the two groups fought deeper into the warehouse, Chen Fan’s view started to blur. It was frustrating.

Zhu Yeqing handed Chen Fan a pair of binoculars. Then, in the car, she peeled some fruit for Chen Fan to eat.

Many others had also pulled out binoculars. A group of onlookers, just wanting to see how this story would unfold.

“Useless! Li Long is really useless! Not a single decent fighter under his command,” Ling Yuyan muttered, hiding behind a tree as she watched the fight in the warehouse, frustrated beyond belief. Even her brother had come, which Ling Yuyan hadn’t expected.

She had clearly refused to spar with Ye Aotian anymore, yet her family had still sent her brother. When Ye Aotian dodged an attack, Lin Qingyue was furious, wanting to punch someone. But when Ye Aotian got kicked by the enemy, Lin Qingyue almost jumped up with joy.

Jin Lan, on the other hand, remained calm, watching the two men at the alley’s entrance—Ling Xiaoyun and Jiang Cheng the Lightning Hand.

Jiang Cheng had been hired by Li Long to deal with Ling Xiaoyun. Both sides had thoroughly investigated each other’s strengths.

Without exchanging words, Jiang Cheng and Ling Xiaoyun immediately began fighting. Neither was fighting to the death, though. Ling Xiaoyun’s goal was simple: he didn’t want to get too involved and was just there to block the experts.

Jiang Cheng’s goal was also simple: fight, but don’t go all out—he wasn’t ready to die for this. However, when gunshots rang out in the warehouse, Chen Fan was stunned.

What the hell? In the novel, there was no mention of guns!

In most urban novels, firearms were usually hidden from the plot. If guns were involved, how were they supposed to keep playing this out?

The sound of gunfire had startled Chen Fan.

Crap, could the protagonist really die here? Damn, don’t let that happen. If you die, how will I get home?

A figure darted out, and Ye Aotian disappeared into the darkness. Meanwhile, inside the warehouse, Li Long was laughing hysterically.

“Chase him down!”

Damn you, Li Long! You’re not playing by the rules! You pulled out a gun—how’s the protagonist supposed to kill you now?

Though Chen Fan was frustrated internally, he still put on a disappointed expression.

“Didn’t die … Driver, follow him. I need to see Ye Aotian die with my own eyes.”

A lot of people had the same idea, and the cars started moving. However, they couldn’t keep driving, as Ye Aotian had run into a park.

Left with no choice, Chen Fan got out of the car.

“Protect me, Zhu Yeqing.”

“Don’t worry, young master. No one will hurt you.”

In her mind, Zhu Yeqing thought, I’d love for you to die, you perverted pig, shameless scoundrel.

Holding an umbrella, Chen Fan spotted Jin Lan.

“Leader, you’re here to watch the show too?”

“Of course. With such a big event, I naturally wanted to come and see for myself.”

Chen Fan looked at Jin Lan and asked, “Leader, what do you think of Ye Aotian? Is he worth cultivating?”

Once Li Long was dead, Chen Fan and Jin Lan would be on opposing sides. Instead of waiting to oppose her later, why not do it now? It was best to lay things out clearly.

Jin Lan smiled, walked up to Chen Fan, and gently cupped his face in her hands.

“Are you asking if I’m going to cultivate Ye Aotian?”

Yes, yes—just say it already, so I can quit. I want to go home to my big villa.

“I’m not interested. The one I’ve always wanted to cultivate is you.”

You … You … You!

Chen Fan was so angry he almost coughed up blood.

Damn it, you’re not playing by the rules! You’re shameless! You’re unreasonable!
