Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 101: Stonehide Boars

Even the worst baseball pitcher would still hit one of the boars with the sheer number of them!

He couldn\'t watch further and close his eyes with his palm, seemingly accepting their fate of death. It was not like he hadn\'t experienced death before.

The worst that could happen was losing some experience, or items, or possibly being locked out of the game for some time.

With his eyes shut, Zhao Kai\'s ears remained open as he suddenly heard numerous loud explosions, followed by multiple system prompts popping out sound.

\'Huh? Are we not dead?\' Baffled by the unexpected scenario he had in mind, he slowly opened one of his eyes, trying to see the situation.

To his astonishment, the field ahead of him was filled with injured Stonehide Boars, with most of them having their armors blasted and burned to smithereens.

"What the?" He gasped in disbelief.

"Oh, you\'ve finally opened your cowardly eyes?" Xu Feng\'s teasing voice echoed as he continued to launch numerous Sacred Fire at random areas.

Each Sacred Fire lit up the dusk like a small sun before landing with a resounding thud.

The moment the Sacred Fire landed, it was like a trigger had been activated and an explosion soon occurred, sending fiery shockwaves and debris in all directions. The ground trembled with each blast, and the Stonehide Boars, caught in the fiery onslaught, squealed in pain and fury.

Simultaneously, Zhao Kai realized his experience points were rising at a fast rate, meaning quite a lot of Stonehide Boars had fallen to their death from the blast impact.

Zhao Kai stood frozen, his mouth agape in amazement.

"How... how are you doing this?" he stammered, watching Xu Feng\'s relentless assault in awe. His disbelief quickly turned to admiration as he realized the extent of Xu Feng\'s power and tactical prowess.

"Stop admiring my coolness and start shooting at the injured ones." Xu Feng\'s instruction soon snapped him back to reality.

"R-Right away." He responded like some military soldier as he began aiming his Ironbolt Rifle at those injured who wanted to flee.

BANG!

With each precise shot thanks to the decayed movement of the Stonehide Boars, Zhao Kai easily finished them off one by one.

"There\'s about 10-15 more Stonehide Boars, and they are just slightly injured. I\'ll leave them up to you now." After firing an unknown number of Sacred Fire, Xu Feng finally took a backseat

"Wait, what?" Startled, Zhao Kai didn\'t expect him to be swapped to do the assault.

"You were doing amazing though. Why are we swapping?" He asked, seemingly dumbfounded.

"I\'ve run out of those explosives." Xu Feng responded flatly.

Without those explosives, his Sacred Fire was practically useless. It was merely used as an active fuse to trigger the explosive.

"Damn, why didn\'t you put more then?" Zhao Kai grumbled, feeling like it was a waste to not place more on the ground as traps.

However, what he got in return was a smack in the head.

"Did you think I don\'t want to put more? They are expensive to make!" Xu Feng snorted coldly.

And he continued, "If you didn\'t decide to disrupt my initial plan and provoke them to the maximum, then I could save some of those explosives as well."

Knowing that he was in trouble, Zhao Kai coughed repeatedly as he took the mantle.

"Ahh, these boars are ruining my digestive system. Look at how much I\'m coughing. I must exterminate them fast." He said, aiming his rifle at them and shooting.

"..."

Xu Feng was speechless at his quick excuse, given the digestive system could indeed cause coughing.

This phenomenon was often related to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), where stomach acid flowed back into the esophagus, leading to irritation and a reflex cough.

However, Xu Feng was positive that he was just faking his cough to avoid being reprimanded, a typical defense response from those who know they are wrong.

Shaking his head, Xu Feng buffed Zhao Kai with his remaining spells and proceeded to collect the loot. With the Gluttony skill, he was positive that Zhao Kai could handle the remaining Stonehide Boars, albeit for a longer time.

He wanted to hone his fighting experience, so he won\'t offer any assistance aside from buff.

\'If you want to survive in the Divine World, then it\'s a must to improve your overall skills.\' Xu Feng thought to himself, picking up the hides required for Fiona\'s Mission.

System: You have collected one Stonehide Boar Hide!

A system prompt appeared as he collected one of the required materials.

It served as a reminder and notification to amateur players that they were on the right track.

Nevertheless, Xu Feng quickly turned off this kind of system notification as he knew what he was doing. Not to mention, having a system prompt popping out every time he collected one would be beyond annoying.

Time slowly passed by, and Xu Feng managed to collect around 23 Stonehide Boar hides. And counting the remaining monsters that Zhao Kai was hunting, they should be quite close to completing it.

\'The Shadow Wolves pelt needed is 46, which is quite a hassle.\' Xu Feng scratched his head lightly.

Previously, they had fought against 4 of them and came out on top, but that was mainly because they were most likely the scouts. If they were to encounter the real fighting squad of the Shadow Wolves, then chances are, they would probably die.

"Do I even have enough time to finish gathering?" Xu Feng mumbled softly.

After all, he still had the insurgency mission that was given to him by Receptionist Sandy from Riverwood Town.

\'Hopefully, OneManMedia did not disappoint me and will give me some good news soon.\' He prayed silently.

Sometime later, Zhao Kai returned with 13 Boars hide with a prideful smile.

"Haha, these boars really tried to confront me directly. My defense is still rather strong." He laughed heartily, boasting about his defense as a Gun Knight.
