Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Metal Warriors

Looking at the sporadic colorful grains of sand amidst the white desert, Lin Shen immediately realized that this must be the desert where the Frost Giant Tree was discovered.

He couldn\'t see the Frost Giant Tree from this side and had no idea how far away it might be.

"Did I just waste these past few days for nothing?" Lin Shen\'s mood soured, recalling that he had not found any Base Variant Creatures near the Frost Giant Tree before.

This suggested that the desert was rather scarce in Base Variant Creature resources, whatever the reason. Either way, it was not the place Lin Shen needed.

As Lin Shen pondered which direction to take next, he suddenly spotted some figures appearing in the desert.

He looked carefully and was immediately a mix of surprise and delight.

In the desert, there was a group of green metal giants, each over three meters tall with bodies constructed of green metal—clearly Alloy Creatures, numbering well over a dozen.

Overjoyed, and seeing that no one was around, Lin Shen promptly shot off several Crystal Mutation Pets at the green metal giants.

The Crystal Mutation Pets fought against the green metal giants. The difference in levels allowed them to quickly defeat the green giants.

Riding the Big Red Bull, Lin Shen approached the corpses of the green metal giants, trying to dissect their metallic bodies to see if they harbored any Base Mutation Eggs.

Unfortunately, he discovered nothing but collected some Base Mutation Fluid.

"It seems there are living creatures in the desert; they\'re just not found near the Frost Giant Tree," Lin Shen decided to venture deeper into the desert to see if there were sufficient Base Variant Creatures around, which would make it a good place after all.

Beyond their previous transport into the fruit of the Frost Giant Tree, he had not yet seen anyone transported to the desert region.

This meant that no one would compete with Lin Shen for the Base Mutation resources here.

Lin Shen put away the Big Red Bull and summoned the Hell Rock Crystal Evil Dragon, riding it through the sky over the desert, searching for nearby Base Variant Creatures.

High above, Lin Shen quickly spotted another group of metal giants, mostly green giants, but there was also a blue metal giant among them.

"There\'s a mutation!" Lin Shen exclaimed excitedly, immediately directing the Evil Dragon towards them, unleashing the Frost Swordsman from mid-air.

The Frost Swordsman, with its high level and powerful skills, struck down the blue metal giant in a single blow.

"Killed the Mutated Alloy Creature, the Blue Metal Warrior." Information immediately appeared on his wristwatch.

Under Lin Shen\'s command, the Evil Dragon snatched up the corpse of the blue metal giant, grabbing the Frost Swordsman, and promptly flew away.

Ordinary Alloy was useless to Lin Shen; he was unwilling to waste time killing them—it would be wasteful, and it would be better to leave them for someone in need.

This unclaimed virgin desert land had given Lin Shen quite a few surprises. There were numerous Metal Warriors, and mutations were common.

Almost every few miles, there was a group of Metal Warriors, and in every slightly larger group, there would be a Blue Metal Warrior.

After consuming the Base Mutation Fluid from two Blue Metal Warriors, however, their Base Mutation Fluid no longer increased his base mutation rate.

Afterward, having spotted quite a few Blue Metal Warriors, Lin Shen no longer pursued the hunt.

Fortunately, after a while, Lin Shen spotted a rather large group of Metal Warriors, among which there was a Purple Metal Warrior.

The Purple Metal Warrior was also a mutated Alloy Creature, which surprised Lin Shen a bit. It was very rare for a Base Variant Creature tribe to have two different kinds of mutations.

What surprised Lin Shen even more was that after some time, he discovered a Red Metal Warrior, also a mutated Alloy Creature.

"How can one tribe have so many different mutations?" Lin Shen grew increasingly astonished. As he continued hunting, he also kept searching, wanting to see how many variants there were among these Metal Warriors.

After searching for a long time, he found that the blue mutations were the most common, the purple mutations were less common, and the red mutations were the rarest; so far, he had only encountered that one.

A Blue Metal Warrior\'s Base Mutation Fluid could only provide Lin Shen with a little Base Mutation rate, and only the fluid from the first two Blue Metal Warriors was effective; the fluid from later Blue Metal Warriors had no effect on Lin Shen.

The Base Mutation Fluid from a Purple Metal Warrior actually provided Lin Shen with two Base Mutation points, and after using the fluid from four Purple Metal Warriors, the effect began to diminish.

The fifth Purple Metal Warrior\'s Base Mutation Fluid only provided Lin Shen with one Base Mutation point, and the sixth provided no more.

Even so, the effect was a lot better than that of the Base Mutation Fluid from those Mutant Poisonous Insects. The Base Mutation Fluid from the same variant of Mutant Poisonous Insect had no effect when used a second time.

This made Lin Shen more eagerly search for Red Metal Warriors, because the Base Mutation Fluid from one of them provided him with three Base Mutation points.

Basing it on his previous experience, if he could find a few more Red Metal Warriors, he could at least increase his Base Mutation rate by about twenty points.

For several days in a row, Lin Shen had been searching for mutated Metal Warriors in the desert.

By now, Lin Shen had delved deep into the desert. Fortunately, his watch was highly functional, allowing him to enter the Realm King Planet only at night, while spending the days in his home at Dark Bird Base, thus he did not have to worry about food and drink.

Now, Lin Shen\'s Base Mutation rate had reached 47, most of which was thanks to Tian Xin. Those several Mutated Crystal Base Eggs and several bags of Base Mutation Fluid provided Lin Shen with a lot of Base Mutation points.

"The promotion to Crystal Base is imminent." Lin Shen returned to his home at Dark Bird Base once more, drank some water, and was just about to go to sleep when Lei came looking for him.

"Mr. Lin Shen, I have some news about the strange man," Lei said excitedly. "That guy went to Wanderer Base, where he\'s said to have killed many people, causing a big commotion. The Zheng Family dispatched an Ascender to kill him, but that Ascender was counter-killed by the strange man."

"Such a thing happened? Tell me more," Lin Shen was very concerned about the matter of the strange person.

"I don\'t know the specifics, I\'ve only heard this bit of news," Lei replied helplessly.

The ability of Dark Bird Base to gather information was rather limited, so it was already quite a feat to have found out this much.

Lin Shen felt somewhat disappointed upon hearing this, but Lei continued, "The main house has also sent back news; she will be staying at Sea Corn Base for a while and probably won\'t be able to return anytime soon."

"Did my sister run into trouble?" Lin Shen furrowed his brows slightly.

"No, no, the main house just wanted to prevent you from worrying, which is why she sent someone back with a message," Lei quickly explained. "She knows that things at home have been settled, and there just happen to be some matters there, so she won\'t be able to return until later."

"What matters?" Lin Shen felt that things were not so simple.

"I\'m not very clear on that, the letter didn\'t say," Lei responded.

Lin Shen looked at Lei without speaking; Lei couldn\'t hold on and sighed, "I asked Zhao Ze, who came back with the message, and he said something. The main house at Sea Corn Base has encountered \'him\'."

"Him?" Lin Shen was momentarily taken aback, then quickly realized whom Lei meant: "Wan Nianbei?"

Lei nodded slightly, "Mr. Lin Shen, you also know of the situation between the main house and him. The main house is facing a tough time."
