Reborn In Space: Pampering The Genius Doctor And Businesswoman

Chapter 46

“How is Cousin now, Mother?” The boy who threw the rock asked as soon as he saw his mother.

“We don’t know. The doctor said it was quite serious, and he’s not very optimistic considering the excessive bleeding,” his mother sighed and said.

The boy sighed in relief as soon as he heard it.

Jing Yunzhao watched his expression change in contempt.

They claimed to be close, but look at how he hoped his cousin would die just so that he could protect himself. Without the testimony from his injured cousin, he could easily put the blame on her. Such behaviour disgusted her.

“It’s all because of you, Jing Yunzhao! My cousin would not be in this condition if not for you!” Lu Jia remembered how well her cousin used to treat her and started shouting at Jing Yunzhao.

Jing Yunzhao wasn’t going to explain herself at first but when Lu Jia accused her in front of everyone, she decided not to hold back.

“Was it really because of me though? It was you and your cousins who stopped me on the road to pick a fight and ended up getting hurt. How dare you put the blame on me now?”

“That is not true! You were the one who threw the rock and injured my cousin!” Lu Jia blurted out nervously.

“Ohh, so you know it was a rock that injured your cousin?” Jing Yunzhao scoffed, “I am sure you brought the rock back since it’s considered evidence, officer, so you can test the blood and fingerprints on it against our samples.”

The room fell silent instantly.

The incident had unfolded so quickly that Lu Jia and her cousins had only been thinking about putting the blame on Jing Yunzhao; none of them had thought about the rock.

The boy who threw the rock was especially nervous. He glared at Jing Yunzhao viciously, and an idea flashed in his mind when he saw the jacket Jing Yunzhao was holding.

“That’s because Jing Yunzhao had her jacket wrapped around her fist! Her fingerprints won’t be on the rock because she picked it up with her jacket around her fist. As for my fingerprints, they got onto the rock when I tried to stop her and snatched the rock out of her hand,” the boy who threw the rock said quickly.

The police officers observed his suspicious behaviour and frowned. Even his own mother could tell that his explanation was fishy.

But he was her son and she would take his side.

“How on earth does such an evil girl like you exist? I swear we will have you thrown in jail if anything happens to my nephew!” Lu Jia’s aunt exclaimed grievously.

“Don’t be so sure yet.” Jing Yunzhao glanced at Lu Jia’s aunt then said to the boy who threw the rock, “yes, I did wrap the jacket around my fist, but you can tell from the creases that I wrapped only one hand and there is no way that I could throw a rock hard enough to injure someone so badly with just one hand. Also, officer, I did not wrap my hand with my jacket to wipe off evidence – I did it because I did not want to hurt anyone even though I was just defending myself. Wrapping the jacket around my fist softens the impact.”

But Jing Yunzhao had never expected something like this to happen.

She had only wanted to teach them a lesson while leaving behind no evidence so that they wouldn’t be able to make stories out of it.

However, when one of them picked up the rock, she was bitterly disappointed to learn that someone who barely knew her could have the intention of killing her.
