Unserious Beast Tamer

Chapter 90 - 80: The Secret of Evolution!_l

Upon hearing Gu Wu’s words, Xu Ran displayed a thoughtful expression.

Talent Skills are the skills that Pet Beasts naturally awaken to at birth.

Beyond that, Pet Beasts can also learn other skills through later teaching and learning. However, these skills are unrelated to the Pet Beast’s own potential and will not change due to evolution.

So, Ziyun’s Talent Skills were only three: Electric Spark, Electric Arc, and Bite.

No, those three skills were all lost by Ziyun.

Electric Spark and War Roar were fused into the new skill Thunder Roar, Electric Arc and Thunderbolt Flash were fused into the new skill Electric Pursue, and even the one-star Bite was fused with Claw Edge to form a two-star skill Battle Instinct.

Strictly speaking, Ziyun’s Talent Skills were now these three new skills.

If we consider Senior Gu’s explanation, does this mean her present state amounts to her having completed a process similar to evolution?

Then another issue came up.

“Senior Gu, what kind of Talent Skill is more likely to increase in star rating?” Xu Ran earnestly asked for advice.

“It’s not difficult to discern,” Gu Wu replied with a faint smile, “The division of Skill Star Level is entirely related to the strength of the skill.”

“When a skill reached the intensity threshold of a Three Star Skill, it naturally becomes a Three Star Skill,” Gu Wu’s voice paused for a moment, “Thus, the stronger the skill, the closer it is to that threshold, the more likely it is to be upgraded.”

“Two of your Pet Beast’s skills surpass the ordinary Two Stars, so the difficulty of their promotion would be correspondingly reduced,” Gu Wu scrutinized Ziyun, “This means your Pet Beast has a greater chance of successful evolution in the future.”

“I understand what you mean,” Xu Ran nodded seriously, but in his heart, he was thinking about something else.

Gu Wu didn’t know that he had a special tool, the Skill Fusion Stone, which had the ability to fuse skills.

In his eyes, Ziyun possessed Electric Spark, Electric Arc, Thunder Roar, Electric Pursue, and Battle Instinct. The strength of Thunder Roar and Electric Pursue was higher, leading him to judge that Ziyun had high evolutionary potential.

But the reality was different.

Ziyun’s original Talent Skills had been enhanced into brand new skills due to Xu Ran’s fusion. Bite had gone directly from one star to two stars, while Electric Spark and Electric Arc had increased in strength but not in star rating.

According to Gu Wu’s theory, if he continued to fuse Ziyun’s three Talent Skills and further increase their strength, would it make Ziyun’s evolution even easier?

And if these skills were already at three stars before evolution, would the evolution be guaranteed to be 100% successful?

That sounded… not too difficult?

Upon thinking this, Xu Ran’s expression became quirky.

“There’s no need to rush the evolution,” Unaware of his thoughts, Gu Wu patted Xu Ran’s shoulder, “It not only requires the Pet Beast to reach its pinnacle state but also demands the preparation of various appropriate resources.”

“That way, the chances of successful evolution will increase a little.”

Gu Wu sighed in regret, “Sadly, even for known Pet Beasts, there are few instances where the laws of evolution have been researched. And your Pet Beast belongs to a new breed.”

“That… you’ll have to try bit by bit.”

He finished speaking and subconsciously glanced at the Dark Scale Dragon standing behind his daughter.

Choosing such a Pet Beast as her first one was partly due to the Dark Scale Dragon’s own strength, and partly because Gu Wu’s Red-eyed Demon Dragon was an evolved version of a Dark Scale Dragon. He had managed to uncover some of the rules of this Evolution Path.

When a Dark Scale Dragon becomes enraged or very eager to battle, its eyes turn crimson red. At these moments, evolving into a Red-eyed Demon Dragon gives it a significantly higher success rate.

“I understand, I’m already very grateful to Senior Gu for sharing so much with me,” Xu Ran respectfully replied.

“Alright then, now that you two are done talking, Boss Xu, could you please groom my Dark Scale Dragon?” Gu Ling, who had obviously known this knowledge for a while, interrupted their conversation with cheerful laughter.

“Alright, let’s get started,” Xu Ran led the Dark Scale Dragon into the Grooming Room.

A moment later, the Grooming Room echoed with the restrained, involuntary growls of the Dark Scale Dragon.

“Roar—

Gu Wu’s expression gradually became strange as he turned to look at the calm-faced Gu Ling beside him, “Is this how Boss Xu always grooms them?” “Yep!” Gu Ling nodded calmly, “Boss Xu’s grooming feels so good, that’s why the Pet Beasts make some noise.”

“Really…” Gu Wu scratched his head.

Although… why does that sound a bit off to him?

“Take care!” Standing outside the Fosterage Shop, the ever-smiling Xu Ran waved at the departing father-daughter duo, “When the shop is ready to accommodate Super Large Sized Pet Beasts, I’ll be sure to let Senior Gu know at the earliest.”

“Alright!” Gu Wu cheerfully nodded, disappearing around the corner with Gu Ling.

“Let’s go back into the shop,” Xu Ran crouched down to pet Ziyun trailing behind him.

“Meow-” Ziyun hadn’t yet gotten used to the feeling of not being held by the Beast Master all the time. She rubbed her head against Xu Ran’s palm now, taking a while to catch up with his stride.

Not long after they entered the shop, a figure rushed in, dust flying.

“Is this the Foster Shop opened by the New Beast Master Challenge Champion?”

He was a tall and robust looking middle-aged man. He immediately asked the question as he walked through the door.

“Yes,” Xu Ran, about to close for the day, nodded..
