Undead God: I Can Extract Everything

Chapter 269:172 Levels cleared_3

The profits this time were significantly larger than those from the previous missions.

Despite the huge reward in front of him, Dean McKenzie didn’t stop there. He sent someone to Pimii Church.

They had been true to their word, so Dean couldn’t let himself fall short either.

Even if they had set a trap for him, he could just run away.

However, it seemed that they hadn’t laid any traps.

Dean’s skeleton successfully arrived at Pimii Church and returned with the item without any trouble.

After acquiring the item,

although Dean was reassured of a smooth withdrawal, he was still extremely cautious along the way.

He had the items transported by different skeletons to avoid risks. After much effort, the items finally reached Dean’s hands.

Then, Dean saw the following items.

Item: Holy Light Redeemer Medal

Description: A special item from the Church of Holy Light, issued to heretics who have made outstanding contributions to the Church. Wearing this medal provides immunity to attacks from Holy Light Professions below Seven-turn.

Furthermore, any former faults of the wearer cannot be pursued in any form.

Not even the Holy Pope has the right to punish the wearer unless they commit an unforgivable sin against the Holy Light.

PS: However, holding this medal doesn’t automatically make you its bearer. There is a necessary procedure. You holding it only means you are a candidate.

Item: Oath Book

Description: A powerful pledge artifact. Once a pledge is signed on the Oath Book, it cannot be broken, or the consequence would be losing your life.

PS: The current Oath Book already has Kyle Hiller’s signature on it. He made a promise that if you give up the Crystal Heart, he will help you become a Holy Light Redeemer and give you all the items he promised.

Skill Book: Wraith Summoning (Enhanced) (Fifth-turn)

Description: An enhanced fifth-turn Necromancer Skill Book.

[You receive ‘Holy Light Redeemer’ and earn 1500 exploration points, your current exploration points are now 6000!]

Looking at these three items, Dean couldn’t help but squint his eyes.

He had to admit, he was a little startled by the scale of the other party’s offerings. “They’ve gone to such lengths, it seems I really don’t have a reason to refuse. The Crystal Heart may be important, but I only have a shard. Trading it for these items may not be a bad idea.”

“Worst case scenario, once I’m more powerful, I’ll just seize it back!”

Even after entertaining this thought, Dean shook his head, “It’s easy to say, but taking it back may not be so simple once it’s gone. And if I give it up, I can’t upgrade my dungeon’s evaluation anymore, and that means losing two SSS-level rewards!”

Now, Dean was in a dilemma. He wanted these items, but was reluctant to give up the Crystal Heart.

Left with no choice, Dean had to see if he could trick the other party into handing over the items without giving up the Crystal Heart.

Picking up the communicator, Dean contacted the other party, “Mr. Kyle, I can see your sincerity. I’m tempted, but I still have my doubts. I can’t give up the Crystal Heart that easily. How about this, can you give me some time? Let me transition first, I don’t have to become a ‘Holy Light Redeemer’ immediately. Let me forsake darkness and confess my sins, even under your name, let me become your nominal Redeemer!”

Through the books obtained from the Church of Holy Light, Dean had learned a lot more about the Church.

He learned about the existence of “Redeemers”.

A Redeemer, as the Church of Holy Light described, was a heretic who repented his past sins.

Something like a bandit who has been justice-bound.

Dean’s request caught Kyle off guard a bit.

He wasn’t sure why Dean would make such a request.

After some deep consideration, he believed Dean might either lack trust in the Church of Holy Light or need some time to adjust.

Or he was simply keeping his options open, trying to see if someone else might offer a better deal. And if someone did, Dean would run off with them instead!

Realizing this, Kyle became alarmed.

He raised his offer to Dean, “Mr. McKenzie, besides the Six-turn Extraordinary Template, I can also seek a Seven-turn Legendary Template clue for you. This is my final offer for you to think over. As for the Redeemer identity, I can give it to you right away!”

After stating his offer, Kyle immediately ended the call with Dean.

Soon after, a system notification appeared before Dean’s eyes.

[Confirmed that you’ve been granted the ‘Kyle Hiller’ Redeemer status approved and reported by the Holy Light Kingdom, successfully completed the mission ‘Regret of the Burning Holy Light’, you currently qualify for S-level rewards upon mission settlement!]

Seeing the system notification, Dean was immediately hit with a huge wave of joy.

“You’ve got to hand it to this guy named Kyle, he’s quite generous. I like him!”

With that, Dean successfully obtained his third “joy”.

Having gotten the third joy, Dean didn’t want to push his luck, so he decided to cash out.

“System, I want to leave, start the reward settlement!”

Well, Dean has had his share of benefits. If he stayed longer, he’d only face danger, the type of danger a fourth-turn mage like him couldn’t handle. If he didn’t run, wasn’t he waiting to be devoured?

Of course, Dean realized that if he ran now, he may suffer a bit the next time he came here.

But the next time was still a while away. As for now, he would enjoy the benefits he could get.

Indeed, when he gets merciless, he spares no one, not even himself.

[Reward settlement initiated, the current dungeon run is concluded!]

The system notifications started to refresh….
