Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 126

As Baiyi’s formation began to disappear, a strong wind suddenly blew into the quiet valley. Like a storm, the arrows were blown away by the powerful gust of air. In the end, they scattered on the ground.

That was a Level 8 Wind-type spell, it was a weaker version of Claws of Tornarus 1 . Although it wasn’t lethal at all, it was very suitable to be used to deal with arrows, especially those types of projectiles that had no power at all. With Baiyi’s current innate capability, he still needed to chant the full incantation of the spell even though it was a weaker version of the original spell. It did not come as naturally and easily to him like the other lower level spells that he usually used.

Even then, that spell was more than enough to deal with a group of barbarians who did not understand magic at all. When they saw the arrows of their proud archery skills fell from the sky like scattered matchsticks, they decided to ditch their plan and decisively pulled out their sabers one by one. After they had formed a neat formation, they charged down from the higher slope and ran towards Baiyi. For a moment, they looked powerful and dynamic, like the sudden eruption of a water dam where the water burst and swallowed the ground up whole.

The Sprinting Wolf clan occupying the front row charged down waving their sabers fiercely. With their Khan blood flowing in their body throbbing passionately, they were eager to take revenge for their leader. With their sorrows and indignation, they rushed forward like raging magma, looking particularly gallant and giving off a magnificent aura that could blot out the sky and land.

However, they were too caught up in their revenge that they had truly forgotten who their opponents were...

Faced with the tidal waves of barbarian cavalry, the three Divine Warriors unhurriedly jumped down from their goat and walked to Baiyi, directly going up against the enemies. Without warning, they lifted both their arms in the sky and shouted in unison “HAHH!” and at once, three images emerged out of nowhere behind them. As quickly as it appeared, it transformed into little halos of stars and entered the body of those three people.

“Bring it on!” The three Divine Warriors shouted again in unison and uniformly took half a step forward as they pounded their chests with their own palms. A sudden magnificent and ominous aura burst out from their bodies abruptly, forming a powerful substantive intimidating force that gave off a terrifying pressure to the people close to them. The ankled-tall grass were blown to pieces and scattered all over the grassland.

Several horses that were rushing down at the front line instantaneously stopped from the perilous sense of intimidation. Despite the orders and shouts from their riders, they turned around and ran off after giving a sharp piercing cry as they collided brutally with the other cavalries behind them. As a result, the whole neat formation suddenly became chaotic as horses became out of control, neighing and stamping on each other, slowing down the entire troop from attacking. The previous magnificent gallant aura was diminished in an instant.

Even Baiyi did not expect that an ordinary shout would throw the men and horses off their feet. It looked like the Divine Warriors intended to get serious in their fight this time, to the point that they even unleashed their ultimate move— summoning their ancestors. When this tactic was used, the powers of their ancestors would enter their bodies directly, further strengthening their already terrifying strength and body. Along with the experience left to them by their ancestors, the three of them instantly transformed into true

gruesome killing machines.

“This is probably the true form of the Divine Warrior...” Baiyi exclaimed in awe looking at the three Divine Warriors who charged into the chaotic battle without any hint of hesitation. Just by using their weapons, a reign of bloodshed took place right in front of Baiyi’s eyes. There were no fancy moves nor exquisite combat tactics but instead, they were all simple attacks of punches and hits that could finish off a person in just one blow. Such a simple method was the most efficient killing technique in the face of their huge gap in power. Before the cavalries could reach Baiyi, the first line of the Sprinting Wolf Clan was already wiped out by the three Divine Warriors. None of the bodies were left intact under their assaults.

Just like the announcement that they had made before the departure, they were there not for a battle, but to trample on ants.

The horrifying fate that befell the Sprinting Wolf Clan had not only made the other cavalries shuddered in fear but at the same time, it woke them up to the harsh reality. Slightly trembling, the leader of the Blue Hawk Clan shouted out at the top of his lungs, “Don’t mess with those wild boars! Kill that gray mouse first and snatch that woman over!”

Immediately, the few cavalries at the left turned their horses abruptly and charged towards Baiyi while the cavalries on the right continued to advance towards Attie.

Gray mouse? Is that supposed to be me? Baiyi chuckled to himself. Nonchalantly, he pointed a finger at the leader and without warning, a stone spire suddenly shot up from the ground and impaled the loud-mouthed Khan and his poor, innocent horse as well, lifting him up to the sky, his blood squirted out continuously and showered the people around him

“K-Khan? Sh*t! Khan is dead!”

“F*ck it! That gray mouse is a sorcerer! Notify the shamans immediately !”

“Don’t you know that you guys are playing with Death?” Baiyi murmured in a low voice. He raised both of his hand up and two different colors from two different formations immediately emerged from his wrist. He was actually prepared to unleash two different elements at the same time?

That completely went against the magic principle in the world. For an ordinary sorcerer, the Psychic Energy in his body would not be enough to control two different spells, let alone transforming his Mana into two different elements. However, what was essentially impossible for an ordinary human being was not difficult for the Voidwalkers, who had mastered a higher level of power, as they were not bound by the magical laws in the world. With his inexhaustible Psychic Energy, he was able to do whatever things that he wanted. Along with his ability to switch and mix different elemental magic together, he could be as unruly and egotistical as he liked.

If Divine Warrior was said to have a superior body and strength, then the Voidwalkers could be said as having the most profound understanding in power and its application. To some degree, it was evident that the latter was obviously a much more menacing presence, particularly in that kind of large-scale warfare.

The spell that was on Baiyi’s left hand was a Level 7 fire-type spell, the Flamewall. As he quietly closed his palm that was originally spread out, a wave of fire exploded out from the ground without warning. Under Baiyi’s guidance with his Psychic Energy, the fire swiftly formed a circle on the ground, trapping the cavalry that was rushing down from the left inside it. A few cavalries who were charging down in full speed were unable to stop in time and immediately crashed into the flamewall. The sizzling heat instantly turned them into human torches before they could even yell out in pain. They staggered around for a moment before they finally crumbled to the ground into a dark pile of ashes.

The spell that was on Baiyi’s right hand was none other than the spell Gravitas— the spell that Mia encountered during her duel in the ring— that had been modified and strengthened to fit Baiyi’s power. Inspired by Vidomina, the few Voidwalkers agreed that her Level 5 spell was too weak so they decided to tweak it and altered it into a Level 7 spell. After it was upgraded, the range and pressure of the spell had also been greatly increased and it was called the Beast of Crunching Deathtusk 2 , obviously named by the Archmage.

Only God knew where he ripped the name off from. But anyway, after the magic was cast, loud popping sounds erupted from inside the flamewall, it was the sound of human bodies being crushed to death by heavy pressure. Although Baiyi could not personally witness the gory scene behind the flamewall, he was sure that the ground must be fully covered in human residues and God-knows-what-else. He could see the splashes of blood splattering across the high flamewall that landed on the grass by his feet, dyeing the ground a dark shade of crimson red. Even without witnessing it with his own eyes, he could guess the scene that was taking place behind the flamewall. Perhaps it would look like the aftermath of a starving beast having its lunch there.

“Isn’t it better to listen to my advice in the first place? Why do you weak people like to fight so much?” Baiyi shook his head in exasperation as he murmured. As he closed his left palm, the flame circle gradually became smaller until it finally disappeared into thin air, leaving behind a scorched ground that showed no sign of the gory scene that had just taken place a moment ago.

After he had use the two spells to annihilate the enemy at his left side completely, the Divine Warriors were still locked in battle chasing after the fleeing enemies. In terms of efficiency, it looked like the sorcerers had won the match for that round.

At that moment, the enemies at their back was running all over the place being attacked by Huskar’s Mama Goat and another two goats. From time to time, the muffled sound of bodies being pierced could be heard coming from the far distance. As for the enemies on the right side, they were already locked in a fierce battle with Attie and her subordinates. With their earth-shattering cries and yells, they appeared to be the most lively among all of them.

After watching them for a moment, Baiyi realized that Attie’s guards had quite good innate capabilities and along with their will, they were particularly brave and gallant. With just a few dozens of people who formed a circle protecting Attie, they could fend off the attack from the hundreds of enemies that were coming at them from all directions. Seeing that they could manage the situation by themselves, Baiyi set his heart at ease and looked towards the group of people who were standing and watching them from the high slope.

A few people who dressed colorfully emerged and stood at the front line. With weird tools in their hands, bones and God-knows-what, they seemed to be chanting something in high spirits. Looks like this must be the shaman of the barbarian tribe. From what Baiyi knew, those people were particularly bizzare when it came to healing and all kinds of delusional diseases that they came up with. As for their combat ability, they could cast some easy lightning and fire spells, summon wolf spirits and could even use two weapons that were enchanted with elemental magic to fight with the enemy, creating cool visual effects for the bystanders watching their battle.

As for their true strength, well, Baiyi felt that if those shamans left the grassland and entered the Southland, they would definitely be killed easily with just a snap of fingers. They are not qualified to enter combat at all, they were more suited to be a healer or some mental leaders.

So, the moment he saw them standing on the slope chanting their incantation or whatever, Baiyi simply split small part of his Psychic Energy and forcefully interrupted their incantations. Due to the overly large gap between the Psychic Energy of both parties, along with the unrefined spells that could be easily interfered with outside influence, what followed next left the other cavalries in shock. Without warning, a few shamans coughed out a few mouthful of blood before they fell to the ground abruptly and rolled down the slope, dead.

Sigh, the role of a shaman should have just been wiped off in the first place... Baiyi shook his head. Then, looking back at the cavalries that were lining up, he shouted loudly, “The two Khan leaders are already dead. Who else wants to go to Heaven, please make it fast, okay? I’m in a hurry!”

There was not a single person who responded, nor did anyone dare to act rashly. The thousands of Steppe Barbarians that remained had not fought with the Alpine Barbarians for so long that they had already forgotten about the horror of their enemy. Right at that moment, they finally recalled the terror that had been deeply engraved in the dark corner of their minds.
