Chapter 191 Abigail's Dilemma
" Mother!"
" Oh, Adele. What are you doing here? I never thought you will leave his side."
" He woke up."
" That\'s good news!"
" I also heard what you did."
" I don\'t know what you are talking about. Did something go wrong?" Penny was puzzled by her daughter\'s strange response. Typically, she ought to be elated, but Penny couldn\'t see anything of that sort on her face.
" I am talking about Iblis. You don\'t have feign ignorance."
"I-"
" I know why you did it. I will not blame you for it but from now on promise, you will never do anything like that."
" But honey, I don\'t want you to get hurt again."
" I will not abandon my friend also we made a \'pact\' so you don\'t have to worry about it."
" Pact?"
" Yes." Adele didn\'t specify anything and left things at that. Penny was left confused about what had just happened.
But she could see that the dark shadow hovering over her daughter was gone. She decided to trust her regardless of what happens in the future.
Meanwhile, Iblis also visited her mother, Olivia. She wanted to inform her about Samuel\'s condition and tell her the good news.
" My you are looking cheerful. Are you really my daughter?" Olivia asked.
Her condition was stable, and with months of physiotherapy, she could finally walk on her own. It was still hard for her to run or stay straight for a long time.
" I made up with my friend. I will introduce you later."
" I understand, but it was really cruel of you to keep her hidden till now. It\'s been days since she came here." Olivia pretended to be mad. To think her daughter was hiding things from her was painful for her.
" We needed to solve few things and I put it on hold because Samuel was unconscious."
" Now that you have resolved your differences, won\'t you tell your mother about it?"
" No"
" Why?"
" Because it is a secret!"
---------------------------
" Boss, You are awake." Abigail came barging in as soon as she heard about it.
" Oh, Abigail. Yes, I am feeling fine now." Samuel could see her baggy eyes and haggard look. It looked like she hadn\'t slept for days.
" Thank god. I don\'t know what to do. I know you just woke up but we have a big problem."
" Lady, I don\'t think it is good to stress the patient. I have strict direction from the doctor, you might need to consider telling him anything to make him uncomfortable." The nurse who was checking in on Samuel asked.
She knew about the surgery and how bad his condition was. It was good news that the patient woke up soon, but he must refrain from any stressful environment for a few weeks.
" It\'s okay. I know my body quite well. I can handle it." Samuel gave his permission. The nurse wanted to say something, but knowing the identity of these people, she thought it was best to inform the doctor in charge of him.
How could she not hesitate? This whole floor was sealed off as soon as Samuel was admitted. It was already a VVIP section, and they had a few more patients there, but as soon as the director informed them about Samuel\'s identity, they happily left.
" Ok, but if you feel any discomfort press this button. The staff would be notified. Alright?"
" Yes, thank you for taking care of me." Seeing Samuel\'s polite demeanour, the nurse was reassured. She left after once again reminding him.
" Abigail, what is it?" Samuel asked.
" Sir, your view was very bullish for the market. We had put a lot of money in the stocks that you suggested as well as customer funds but after the attack everything plunged. We hit our targets for gold and oil prices but excluding them everything went downhill." Abigail explained.
Her colleagues and subordinates were freaking out; they could also not reach Samuel, which only worsened the situation. Abigail tried her best to keep everything in check, but it was slowly crumbling down.
" Hold on, I don\'t know what happened? As you can see I have been in the coma for the past week." Samuel didn\'t know what she was talking about.
" Ah, I almost forgot. Have you not heard it from others?"
She explained the September eleven attack and briefly told him about its impact. As the twin towers fell, it also decreased the market to about 14%. The crash brought the whole economic sector to a halt. The government decided to close the need for a week, and now nobody knew what would happen when it opened again.
" That is not everything, many lives were lost. It was terrible. I also heard someone took the credit for the attack, it was a terrorist organization situated in middle east."
That\'s when Samuel realized what Aunt Patricia was talking about; if he were awake, would he be able to do something about it? He knew many anomalies and differences between the two realities, but he could have checked for them.
" Child, don\'t concern yourself with it. You can never change the world on your own, if you truly wish for a change you first have to have sufficient power." sensing Samuel\'s unstable emotions, Apollo decided to give some advice.
" I know, it\'s just, I feel like I am the only one who could have done something."
" Even if you knew about it can you prevent every unjustified death on this planet. Even God\'s don\'t have that kind of power."
" But this is different."
" No life is more important than the other, you might feel like it in the moment but before us your social status, personality and accomplishment is meaningless. In the end everyone has the same goal, death."
" I understand and please don\'t talk like a philosophical hermit. I already heard enough of it this past few days."
" As long you understand it."
" I know, but I don\'t want to be some kind of reclusive sage. The more I hear you speak, the more I go down that path.
" Really? That is good news than. Lately I am quite worried about my pupil."
" You don\'t have to concern yourself with it. I also think it is better for you to stop researching about this world. It\'s been rubbing you the wrong way."
" I am only doing that to help you in the future. I will remind you of important events of the future."
" Master, I don\'t think that is your job."
Samuel felt like Apollo was changing little by little, Was the mentality of God that fickle? Or was it because they had become closer than before, and he was seeing a new side of himself? Only time could tel
