The Villain and the Cannon Fodder’s Mother

Chapter 113: Hadn’t Lu Xun mentioned before that he had a 13-year-old son too?! (2)

Then, she found the rest of the pans, wok, and spatula that she needed at a spot next to where Lu Xun had found the skillet earlier…

Lu Xun was shocked beyond words. He couldn’t help but wonder whether this was his house or hers…

Those who were in the kitchen a lot would know that the most used items would usually be placed at the closest spots.

Lin Yiyi was merely going off of her years of cooking experience. She hadn’t expected that as huge as the Lu’s kitchen was, the placement of the items was the same as most other regular families.

She looked through the items in the sink and immediately thought of a few recipes.

“We can make a boeuf bourguignon, braised prawns, and a fish-flavored shredded pork. If it’s just the two of us, another two vegetable dishes would be enough.”

Seeing the ingredients made her itching to cook a good meal!

Lu Xun nodded immediately. Of course he wouldn’t object to it. He couldn’t be any happier!

“Let me get you a bottle of red wine.” And he was gone as soon as he finished saying that.

Inside the wine cellar, he grabbed an obviously very expensive bottle of Château Lafite-Rothschild that was displayed separately and ran back into the kitchen.

Lin Yiyi took the red wine brought back by Lu Xun and started introducing the dishes today. That, too, was an occupational hazard. “Every classical dish has a traditional recipe. Beef bourguignon was a traditional dish from France. And I am going to make the classic Burgundy boeuf a la bourguignon today…”

This dish would take a total of four hours to make.

Four hours mean there would be enough time to prepare all the other dishes while the beef was being braised with time to spare.

But, such good imported New Zealand beef was worth the four-hour wait!

This was the very first time Lin Yiyi cooked at someone else’s house.

The kitchen at the Lu’s was too much to her liking. As someone who was born to stay in the kitchen, she couldn’t be happier. Even her mood to cook had been greatly improved.

She neatly and swiftly finished all the prep work. All the dishes were ready one after another.

A savory-smelling, spicy and numbing, dish of fish-flavored shredded pork with fine and smooth texture; a bright red colored, savory and crunchy plate of braised prawns. Then there were two vegetarian dishes — bell pepper, tomato and potato stir-fry, and king oyster mushroom with broccoli. Plus, a pot of white radish and fish soup…

Then, there was the distinctive and intoxicating smell of the beef that was still being braised in the pot.

When Lin Yiyi had finished plating the extravagant and luxurious boeuf a la bourguignon, she saw Lu Xun, his face filled with anticipation and…

She looked past Lu Xun to the person behind him.

A young man had been standing next to the door since they didn’t know when.

Lu Xun suddenly had a bad feeling. He turned around. Sure enough, he saw the dang face of his nephew!

“I thought… I thought you were away for your summer camp!”

Lu Xun was stunned.

Lu MingZhe didn’t say a word but walked up and sat down right next to Lu Xun.

He glanced over at his little uncle, grunted through his nose, and gave him a very straightforward answer, “I forgot something at home.”

And that was when Lin Yiyi also recalled…

Hadn’t Lu Xun mentioned before that he had a 13-year-old son too?!
